Bought this headset to have a permanent one set up near the desktop for Zoom meetings and whatnot -- I love my wireless headset but sometimes you need a charge when the meeting's going on too long.
For a backup, it's not bad. The on-ear volume wheel feels nice, there's a mute button for the microphone, and the mic itself can be removed if you're just chilling on the couch with your Switch or engrossed in a TikTok/Youtube binge. The mesh on the earcups is nice, but not very plush.
Audio quality... well, it's a headset under $50 that's meant for Discords. You're not getting 6.4 surround or brain-rattling bass. In fact, the low end of the speakers seems to be a little weak, leaving the overall soundstage to feel weak, a little cold, and distant. It's absolutely tuned for hearing people talk online, but not quite a go-to for gaming.
Because the connector is a 3.5mm cable, you need to be careful with what you want to connect to it. It comes with a bundled Y-Adaptor to split the signal if you're hooking into a computer, for example. My current laptop has an omniport 3.5mm jack, but doesn't seem to play nicely with this headset and I've been unable to use the mic. Small quibble, but it could be a problem if you're expecting a plug-and-play solution to the various electronics around the house.
Still, for the price? I'm happy with the purchase.
