The full tower Obsidian case for great-looking high performance PCs

The Obsidian Series 750D full tower PC case combines generous expansion flexibility, room for advanced cooling options, and an interior that’s optimized for fast and easy builds and upgrades. It has a clean, elegant exterior that dispenses with arbitrary plastic add-ons in exchange for the beauty of brushed aluminum and solid steel. This rigid, rugged exterior surrounds a frame that has ample room for high-performance components and the sophisticated cooling you’ll need if you’re going to push those components to their limits. And, it incorporates a host of clever system builder-focused features, because building a system should be straightforward, trouble-free, and even fun.

The room you need when you’re getting serious

Nine PCI-E expansion slots support double and triple GPUs. There’s room for up to ten drives, and four USB ports on the brushed aluminum front panel.

Your system. Your cooling.

The three included Corsair AF140L high-airflow 140 millimeter intake and exhaust fans are custom engineered to deliver excellent airflow with less unnecessary turbulence and noise. You can mount up to eight fans, with room for dual radiators on the bottom, front, and top.

Take control of your storage

There are four separate mounting locations for the drive cages, and if you’re moving to 100% solid-state, you can remove the 3.5 inch cages entirely and use the four side-mounted 2.5 inch cages.

Designed for fast, straightforward builds

The side panels and expansion slots use thumb screws, and storage installation is tool-free. A center-post standoff holds the motherboard in place while you secure it, and the dust filters are easily accessible and removable. Our innovative cable routing system has multiple cutouts with rubber grommets for superior airflow and a cleaner look, and the CPU backplate cutout lets you install or upgrade your CPU cooling without removing the motherboard.

Best case I've built in - perhaps ever

I've been building PCs for 25 years, my first one was an 80286-20 with a 20MB MFM HDD, so I've seen technology get better and better and usually everything gets simpler with time. Nowadays with overclocking there are needs around using watercoolers, extra fans - funny looking lights (to me, I'm old), etc. Amazingly, power supplies, outside of the connectors they now use, have remained relatively the same over the years. So have the screws. The wattage has increased for today's demands, but otherwise they are fancy transformers of AC into DC. Nothing exciting.

Until I bought this case, the cases themselves fell into this same category: I saw no real substantial improvements from AT-designs to ATX, mini-ATX, etc. for 25 years.

With this case, Corsair though now makes a PC builders' life much easier, the motherboard standoffs are already installed (thank you, Corsair) and the backplate only requires 2 or 3 cusswords to line up with the motherboard at the time of installation instead of 50. The airflow is better than most, and there's a lot of room to add more fans (and I recommend using corsair fans, they are the quietest for the CFM/airflow they provide) if you so desire.

As other reviewers have mentioned, this is a big case (full size so it's easy to fish around wires when you have to). The most important aspect to me, as one reviewer put it, is that it didn't look like it just came out of a Transformers' movie - this is an elegant looking, grown-up case. It'd look equally as nice in an upscale office environment as it does at home.

It's an easy case to build in. It's got airflow. It looks nice. I submit that having a caster kit available would be nice, but for many of us it's not terribly necessary.

Very impressed with this case!

Very impressed with this case, coming from a Phanteks P400S. This 500d was delivered to me in perfect condition.

Pros:
- VERY high quality professional looking case
- No obnoxious LEDs, clean build, nice tinted glass
- Quiet with Noctua fans, great airflow through the case w/ the large open front
- Easily fits numerous fan configurations and radiators
- Magnetic dust filters are a nice touch

Cons:
- Cable management is a little rough with a full complement of drives, you probably wont be able to use the rear cable shroud with full thick cables
- Had to use standard cables, rather than braided as the back glass would not close (it's very tight)
- Some of the thumb screws are a little tight on threads
- Price - At $30 less this would be the one to get

Nice Sleek and Roomy Case, Great Aesthetics but with a Few Flaws.

Pros:

- Great looking case, professional and clean look.
- It's spacious! I currently have 1 x 280 MM Rad at the top for a Corsair h110i GTX (280MM), and 2 x 120 Rads for my EVGA Hybrids in SLI.
- Easy cable management; plenty of space, grommets and hooks. Roomy on the back.
- The four slots to show off up to four of your SSD's is a nice touch. (See Pictures) (Note: If you remove the mechanical drive cages otherwise you won't see the SSD's.
- The two included Mechanical HDD cages can be side by side, stacked, or removed individually
- Fits long power supplies like the ax1200i
- Top magnetic filter is easy to remove and clean
- Filter for PSU intake at the bottom easy to remove and clean
- Light weight for a Full Tower.
- Large side window panel to show off your hardware.

Cons:
- Can't remove optical drive bay. I don't use any optical drive or 5-1/4 appliances, so this is a bummer. I don't feel like hacking my case with a drill and a dremel.
- Front Panel on the regular version is very restrictive. I would advice against it unless you're absolutely sure what you're doing with your airflow. I've already ordered the Airflow edition front panel from Corsair.
- If you plan on doing a bottom intake, no filters included, so I had to purchase a pair from Silverstone.
- It's huge! Not really a "con" since you know what you're getting for when purchasing a Full Tower, but just make sure you have the place on your desk or floor for that monster.

This case is HUGE. I didn’t get a full perspective from Linus’ video. Once I took it out of the box I was stunned by how big the 1000d actually was. It overall was a great case to work in. Kinda annoying when you hook all 8 case fans in the front rack up when slide it out you can because the cords are still plugged into the commander pro. Not a huge issue but still something I found rather annoying with the case.

If you have the means to purchase I recommend it.
