You can customize it to your play style with the adjustable weight system, and seven programmable buttons put macros and other critical gaming functions just a click away.

My second mouse has now started the scroll jumping issue. If you scroll up or down, it jumps several pages in the other direction. This isn't a windows thing, or a connectivity thing, it's a Corsair mouse thing. Researching the "fix" for it, this has been an issue since Corsair started making gaming mice, and they can't seem to fix it.
To correct this behavior, you need to take the mouse apart, clean the wheel that receives the action from the scroll wheel, and then spray it with something like WD40. It will work for an undetermined amount of time until you have to do it again.
I likely will not buy another Corsair gaming mouse specifically for this reason.
This is a gaming mouse, right? I never use the scroll wheel to swap weapons in games, pretty much for this exact reason. It's harder to be precise (for me) using a scroll wheel than simply pressing "2", etc. However, some games have features that rely on scrolling. ARK: Survival Evolved (and lots of sandbox games), for example, allow you to rotate building pieces. Well, as you can imagine, it's rage-inducing when your brand new mouse fights you every time you try to scroll.
Overall, I like the mouse. The clicking is pretty loud, but the weight is good and the chord is braided. The scrolling is light, little resistance, and feels really smooth. If not for the malfunction, I'd like the mouse. I really should have just listened to the other reviewers and steered clear of this one. The scroll wheel malfunctioning already is a big let down -- far more than I thought it would be when I pulled the trigger on this purchase despite the many reviewers bringing it up.
I felt the software to be a bit more user friendly than the SteelSeries also. Windows 7 picked up the device immediately and the drivers and firmware update applied without issue. Be sure to download the package from Corsair instead of letting Windows decide the settings (corsair.com/downloads). The SteelSeries application wasn't as intuitive and would also crash once in a while.
Overall I'm extremely happy I bought this. I even found myself rediscovering my game collection again because the mouse is so comfortable and smooth to use. One small tip: if you plan to buy this on Amazon, it's sort of a crap shoot to get the best price. I had this on my wishlist for about a week and it was first priced at MSRP but two weeks later it dropped to $41 so I pulled the trigger. Within A DAY the price rose $7 and then another $11 after that. At the time of this review it was currently priced at $58.99. So I would add it to your list then monitor it from time to time. With Corsair you're paying for the name but I personally wouldn't value this mouse higher than $50.
