My build was for pure utility, I wanted the super handy case sides with the flip up brackets that hold each side in place. These clamps are extremely solid and they hold each panel in place with zero play. Even though they are strong the amount of effort to open and close them is minimal.
Also part of the utility that I wanted was the extra nice handles on the top of the case. This particular system will be moved around in my shop on a regular basis but I have never found a case with a good handle design that I also found pleasing to my tastes. Corsair again shows their quality and attention to detail that anyone will notice when they pick up a fully loaded system in this case and find the handles show no sign of flex. When you let go of the handles they also have springs that hold them firmly in place against the top of the unit, no rattling here!
On the front of the case there are the standard buttons and other jacks that you would expect to find. The power and reset buttons really take another step in making the case look special though. With the white back-lit power button and the ultra-nifty flip up reset switch cover you will have your friends admiring your case.
The last feature on the outside of the case that really stands out to me is the feet. How many times have you had a case with the stick-on plastic feet that always seems to come loose when pulled across the floor or desk? Even worse is when a case no matter the quality has a slight bit of bend in it which leaves the feet not always touching on all four? Corsair has made wide bands for the feet that have an anti-slip pad on them which are part of the frame itself. This design choice makes the case contact the surface very good and if you have a surface that is not level the bands are also helpful because they are solid for the full width of the case.
Internally the black surfaces are excellent as well as the cable routing features. The drive bays on the front are simple to use and offer tool-less use and screw in locations for those who prefer. The internal drive cage(s) are also done very well and allow for removal helping with installation and in the case of long video cards you have the option to leave one out.
As to be expected Corsair has made accommodations for very large radiators that can be top mounted. Other fan and radiator mounts, openings and fittings round out the case. There should be no issues with any desired fan mounting anywhere in this case.
All in all the C70 design is top notch and the military ammo box look is something that will start many conversations. For those who like to go the extra mile with their builds its hard to imagine all of the possibilities for ultra-sweet custom paint designs that will make an already custom looking case even more fantastic.
Overall a fantastic and really well thought out case, but perhaps a tad more cable space would be appreciated.
The handles on the top are a blessing in disguise. They make it so easy to pick the case up if I need to move it for something but pretty much disappear when folded down. The power button even feels better than any other that I've used.
By now I guess it's obvious that I like everything about this case. By the way, I think the white color is cool.
The whole case is metal, so there's less electrostatic shock to worry about. The interior is painted, which really makes the parts stand out.The 6 hdd trays accommodate 3.5 and 2.5 inch already, so you wont need an adapter for your SSD. It comes with two front intake fans that suck in air through a filter across the hard drives. The bottom of the case has two air filters running along the length of the bottom of the case that slide out very easily for cleaning. The air flow in this case is just great. You can mount your PSU face down and not worry about dust, and there's room for two more fans down there.
The case comes with ties, and along the path where you run the cables are clips already in place for you. I'm a messy guy and this cable management is moron proof.
