There is a locking handle on the back of the top step that keeps it locked in the open position. This way you know it is secure and won't fold while a child is using it. To fold the stool, pull the handle, and then it folds. The same lock then holds it securely closed.
It is very compact. The overall height is 25" from the floor to the top of the grip handle. When opened, the base is 16" deep by 14.5" wide. Maximum thickness when folded is 2", maybe 2-1/16." The top step is 7" x 12-3/8", and the bottom step measures 4" x 12-3/8".
The stool frame is very stable.Read more ›
I use this tough little guy almost every day and am confident that it will last me for several more years. A really good buy in my opinion.

Pretty good sturdy step stool. Probably not good for people over 180lbs tho.Published 9 months ago by Al Rivers
Does ex tally what I need it to do. Not cheap and wobbly at all.Published 15 months ago by shoe goddess
This is smaller than I expected and doesn't feel especially substantial. It's steady and feels safe, but its just kind of light and a few inches shorter than I'd like. Read morePublished 23 months ago by John
This stool is ok, it's not as sturdy as I had thought. I'm not sure a heavier person could stand on it safely (I weigh 110lbs). I expected it to be taller than it is. Read morePublished on June 14, 2014 by CB20
