I really wanted this to work after reading so much positive feedback from this product. It didn't really do anything for my skin, so after two months of using it I tested its PH level and found it's well outside of the level to be effective; it tested at 6 when BHA's are supposed to be around 3-4 to work their magic. Unfortunately I'm not the only one to have this issue, I just wish I tested it within the window of returning it. I feel like I've completely wasted $20 which could've gone to another product which actually works. Please don't be like me and get on the hype train and ignore the one / two star reviews on here!
Edit: I bumped it up a star because the seller sent me another product for compensation even though it was past the 30 day return period. HB INTL made sure I was satisfied and notified Cosrx of the PH issue! Excellent customer service.
My CosRx BHA blackhead liquid came HALF FULL AND LEAKING. I just opened this package today after my sister held onto it for me, and the box the bottle came in was bent and wet from the liquid coming out. Someone had wrapped it in plastic to try to keep it inside, I'm guessing. After I took all of that sticky stuff off, the bottle itself was slippery and wet with a little less than HALF of the liquid inside. I had to throw all of the packaging away. I placed the bottle in a zip lock bag but still need to clean it and see where it's leaking from.
As for the product itself, after using it once, it seems much weaker than I initially thought it would be. I do normally use a cleanser with 2% salicylic acid and the mizon 8% AHA, so my skin is used to acids; however, this felt little different to putting water on my face. (For the record, I have an oily t-zone and very dry cheeks. I applied this while focusing on my cheeks and nose since I tend to have the most blackheads there.)
Unsure about repurchasing this product at this stage in my testing. Very sure about not buying it on here again. If you're looking for something stronger, this may not be for you. If you're looking for an introduction to acids, this is a very safe bet.
This was just ok for me -- I've been using it for some time without either failure or success. Admittedly I have pretty clear skin, but it hasn't made a difference on my blackheads or sebaceous filaments. I may need something a little more concentrated. It did not irritate my sensitive, eczema-prone skin so that's good.
Disappointed. I wanted to love this, because... Cosrx! But, unfortunately, after 4 months of daily use, I notice no differences. I tried fiddling with my routine religiously every 2 weeks, to no avail. Unfortunately, it looks like I need to be sticking with salicylic acid instead of the betaine salicylate most Korean products use, due to product regulations. Probably would not repurchase. When this is finished (only about 1/3 of bottle is gone, which speaks to the amount of time this product lasts!) I'll likely be purchasing the Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Gel or Liquid exfoliant, which has salicylic acid. Not sorry I tried this cult classic though!
This product was amazing on my skin and I’ve seen a clear difference in a matter of a week. Though I was disappointed in the packaging. One night my bottle was tipped over (with the lid on) on the counter and leaked about 1/4 of my bottle. Found out the pump on the top is crooked and leaks during travel. I was not expecting this for the quality feeling of the bottle. I have found no way to contact the seller about this issue.
I wanted to shout out that I agree with some of the poor reviews. It did not do anything to my skin. My skin kept getting clogged. I used PC's BHA gel almost daily which at least left my skin glowy. This item should not even be compared to the PC's BHA gel.
I read many reviews of this stuff, and I was prepared for an initial breakout. So I used it for 5 weeks. I had to quit because my acne just kept getting worse. I have moderate hormonal acne, and I decided to use this stuff after reading so many glowing reviews. Well for my skin Bha did not work. I gave up after I realized that my acne had worsened to a point where I was reminded of my skin in my teens! My zits were more numerous and had gotten more deep and persistent. I went back to my usual routine of clarisonic once a day, hyaluronic acid serum, benzoyl peroxide, and oil free moisturizer.
