Great Fit & Amazing Comfort
Off the coast of Baja California, Magdalena Bay has mangrove-lined swamps, fertile estuaries, and some of the best sport fishing in the world. These extra-large fit sunglasses were made for big adventures in a fisherman's paradise- wherever you find one.
Costa's co-injected bio-based nylon frame material is both tough and durable, while offering a comfortable fit. TR-90 nylon is a premier material for sports and performance frames as it is resistant to heat and cold. Though it is flexible, it is still durable. Nylon is easily molded into Costa's iconic wraparound shape.

The Most Advanced Lens Options
580G - Lightwave Glass
Costa's most high tech lens - glass provides the most superior clarity. Costa's encapsulated mirrors (between layers of the glass) are scratch-proof. Costa's glass lens is 20% thinner and 22% lighter than the industry's average polarized glass lens while still blocking 99.9% of glare.
580P – Polycarbonate
Polycarbonate is the lightest and most durable lens material option. Providing high clarity, impact resistance and light weight all day wear-ability. The C-WALL molecular bonded mirrors provide the most scratch-resistant and smudge-free barrier, repelling water, oil, and sweat for easier cleaning.
Polarized lenses are essential for anyone who spends time outdoors - especially on the water. But, not all polarized sunglasses are created equal. Costa is 99.9% polarized, providing the best efficiency available so that reflective glare is blocked-reducing eye strain and headaches.
Costa's mirrors are more than an aesthetic and a necessity in harsh sunlight. Made through a high-tech ion beam deposition process, these multilayered thin film coatings make for the most scratch-resistant mirrors out there.

SIZE: These are a medium-large pair of glasses. They'll fit most men but might overwhelm women and smaller male faces. They do not have a wraparound but I have no problem with sun seeping through anywhere.
FRAME: I was drawn to the gray frame. It is a nice balance between sporty and business. The frame is lightweight yet seems pretty sturdy as well. The hinges have a good amount of flexibility for putting on & taking off your glasses. The arms hold my head well without feeling tight. I can comfortably wear these sunglasses for as long as I need to without any complications.
LENSES: The 580 lenses is generally regarded as one of, if not the best lenses currently available. The level of clarity from either version of the 580 lenses cannot be beat. It has full UV protection and also filters "good" blue light from "bad" blue light. All of Costa's lenses are polarized so don't worry about trying to find it in the product information. There are two types of 580 lenses - 580 Plastic (580P) and 580 Glass (580G). The plastic are normally less expensive, are more durable, and are lightweight. The glass are heavier and a little more fragile but they have unmatched clarity. I chose the 580P as it is the right fit for everything I want in sunglasses. I suggest going to a sunglasses shop and trying various styles on. Dick's Sporting Goods has numerous Costa Del Mar's on display.
If you're having a tough time deciding which lens to choose, my optometrist told me a general rule of thumb: dark eye color (brown, etc) - lighter lens (amber, light brown), light eye color (blue, etc) - darker lens (black, gray).
