In my efforts to find the bags I need for packaging our homegrown popcorn, I had been frustrated by reviews that simply said a bag was good or bad, not what was good or bad about it, so I could know if it would be good for my purposes. I have ordered and tried several different options now. This review is for the 4x6 bags we need for our 12 oz package.

Cotton Muslin Bags 4x6 Inch (10x15cm) 50 Count Pack
I really like how this bag’s drawstring is done. It is a very thin drawstring (string), but each bag is sewn well right to the top and the drawstring is threaded through afterwards so it can’t be sewn into the bag and the bags won’t leak any of the kernels of corn out at all. The overall quality is good. PROBLEM – Although these claim to be a 4x6 (and yes, the ad does say ‘approximately’) NONE of the bags could hold 12 ounces of popcorn like all of the other 4x6 bags do. The fabric does accept the stamp ink well. In the pictures you can see that one bag is notably smaller than the others and has a lighter weight drawstring. Even with it's downfalls, this is likely the bag I will continue to use if I can get them in a more standard size to accommodate 12 ounces. I will have to check with the manufacturer. I need thousands of these each year.

Hands down the best quality. I loved the nice heavy fabric of the ecogreentextiles bags. Nice drawstrings, but I did manage to break the first one as I was trying to pull the top of the bag closed enough to keep kernels of popcorn from escaping. Unfortunately, it won’t pull closed enough for my purposes because of the thickness of that wonderful fabric, so I won’t be able to use it. I haven’t tried stamping these yet but I have no doubt that they will accept the ink very well. You can see the quality of the fabric and the fact that it won't close tight enough for me in the pictures.

Pangda 100 Pieces Drawstring Cotton Bags Muslin Bags (4 x 6 Inches)
I really wanted this to be my favorite, mostly due to the price. The fabric is a thin muslin and the drawstring (cord) is the best of any that I have tried. UNFORTUNATELY, the sewing is not good. A few of the bags had the drawstring sewn in so they couldn’t be pulled. Many of the bags had the sewing on the side seam stop as low as a half inch or even more below the top of the bag so that when the bag was tied closed, there was still a hole large enough to put my finger through in the side of the bag where the popcorn would leak out. I ended up with only 50% usable bags – which changed the whole price advantage by effectively doubling the price. If you don’t need the tight closure like I do, these were a decent bag for the price. They were quite consistently sized and every bag that I was able to use, did nicely hold 12 ounces of popping corn. The time for the ink to dry from the stamp was a bit longer than other bags leaving me to wonder if the fabric was treated with something. One of the pictures below shows a sample of the crooked top and poor side seam.

I bought these bags to hold my homemade soap, which measure 2 1/2" x 3"......plenty small enough to fit in a 3" x 4" bag. Unfortunately the INSIDE dimensions of these bags are too small for my soap. This should probably be mentioned in product description. If the INSIDE dimensions were exactly 3" x 4", I would not have had an issue.
