No Need for a Plastic Liner the Bean Products cotton duck shower curtain will prevent water from spraying outside your shower without a plastic liner. This keeps unnatural plastics out of our landfills and is better for our environment.
Our duck fabric shower curtain will get wet, but water will not spray through and then the cotton curtain will air dry nicely (with proper ventilation) which helps prevent mold and mildew growth associated with plastic liners that stick to your tub or walls.
Hand Crafted here in Chicago USA by Bean Products, Inc. of durable and attractive 7 oz. cotton duck fabric which is specially finished in a greater width to our specifications which allows for full tub size curtain. The white color is bleached using environmentally friendly hydrogen peroxide rather than toxic chlorine and finished with 100% rustproof nickel plated brass grommets.
This cotton shower curtain does not have the annoying property of billowing out towards the shower spray like lightweight nylon or plastic liners do.
Good for you and the Environment, using your Cotton Shower Curtain demonstrates your concern for our planet's environment by reducing chemical and plastic use, reducing landfill mess, as well as beautifying your bathroom environment by bringing nature into your everyday life. While this is a practical and natural alternative to plastic shower curtains, natural cotton still requires care the curtain will need to be washed, perhaps weekly if used daily. Keep curtain opened out to allow air drying and keep bathroom well ventilated to prevent mildew growth.
Measures approximately 72 x 72 inches. Available in Natural or White. Proudly Made in USA by Bean Products, Inc. of Chicago IL

UPDATE 7/17/14: I just increased my rating from 4 stars to 5 stars. I've been using this item now for about 6 months as a shower curtain liner. About 30 minutes after each shower, I squeeze out the excess water from it and hang it over the outside the tub to dry. I push my fancy shower curtain out of the way (tucked over the towel rod) to allow the cotton curtain to dry. It takes a long time to dry completely--roughly 10-12 hours. Yet still, even though I live in a flood plain (so it tends to be humid in my house), and even though I rarely use the air conditioning, this cotton shower curtain is entirely clean. I've not washed it other than the original washing to shrink it, yet there is no sign of dirt or mildew at the bottom, as there was with my awful, old plastic curtain liner... I am so glad I bought this product.
UPDATE 10/12/15: It's almost 2 years since I bought this product. Here in NC, we just had 2 solid weeks of rain. I live in a flood plain, so my place tends to get humid. Well, apparently all those factors conspired to cause some serious mold to appear on this liner--big blotches toward the bottom and smaller spots throughout. I'm washing it at present with some non-chlorine bleach, but I don't expect that will be enough. So most likely, I will have to buy a new one. I was hoping this liner would last longer than 2 years, but so it goes...
UPDATE 10/20/15: The washing helped a lot: I used non-chlorine bleach (no chemicals in my house). It still has some light reddish stains that may be mold, but it is not spreading. I also realized that a lot of the small black and green spots I see on the curtain are simply part of the natural look of the cotton rather than mold. I'm still happy with this product.
Before using it, I washed it in warm water a couple of times, thinking that I would get the shrinking done with. I had hung it in my shower before just to see how long it was. It was 5 inches too long... so if it shrinks a bit, it will still be long enough. Right? nope. It was several inches too short after the washing! I decided to add fabric to the length, so cut 10 inches below the hook holes, added 5 inches of pretty print canvas and it was the right length once again. An easy fix if one can sew.
Recently, I did a wash again... it had a bit of mildew on it, so it took a couple of washes, but the stains and smell did come out... But, when I hung it in the shower to dry - it was 5 inches shorter than the last time! I could arguably add yet another row of fabric below the last row and make it work yet again. And I might. BUT - I shouldn't have to!
This doesn't shrink horizontally, just vertically. I sew a lot, I use canvas a lot to make bags... I've never had fabric shrink this much. As much as I wanted to love this and as much as I love supporting American products that are natural, I can not support this product. It is not enough to have the credentials if the product doesn't do what it needs to do. This much shrinking after so long and so many hot showers is a sign of a defective product.
I cannot recommend this product nor will I buy another.
I LOVE that it is natural material, I wanted a hemp one, but that is too spendy for me right now. This will do fine until I can get a hemp one. NO plastic toxic smell!!! YAY!
***********UPDATE September 20, 2015 ***********
I am downgrading this to two stars because it has shrunk almost four full inches since July. It is now four inches shorter and we had to hook two shower hooks together all the way around in order to hang it so that it goes to the bottom of the shower stall. Ridiculous!
