No Need for a Plastic Liner This cotton shower curtain will help prevent water from spraying outside your shower without a plastic liner. This keeps unnatural plastics out of our landfills. The shower curtain will get wet, but will not spray through. The cotton shower curtain will air dry nicely (with proper ventilation) which helps prevent mold growth associated with plastic liners. Hand Crafted This cotton shower curtain is hand-crafted here in the USA of durable and beautiful 7 oz. cotton duck fabric. The white color is bleached in environmentally friendly hydrogen peroxide, with rustproof nickel plated brass grommets. Processed without Chlorine Bleach The cotton shower curtain's natural cotton duck fabric is not organically grown but is processed without chlorine bleach, dyes and finishes normally used in the industry. Helps Resist Mildew and Mold The cotton shower curtain may help resist mildew and mold by drying quickly. After showering simply spread the curtain out so air can dry it, and try not to leave it gathered at one end of the tub. Be sure that your bathroom has good ventilation to ensure proper drying. This curtain does not have the annoying property of billowing out towards the shower spray like lightweight plastic liners do. Good for you and the Environment Using your Cotton Shower Curtain demonstrates your concern for our planet's environment by reducing chemical and plastic use, reducing landfill mess, as well as beautifying your bathroom environment by bringing nature into your everyday life. While this is a practical and natural alternative to plastic shower curtains, natural cotton still does require care, your shower curtain will need to be washed - perhaps weekly if used daily. Please note that we recommend air drying in your dryer - heat may result in shrinkage of up to approximately 3 inches. Made in USA Measures: Approximately 72 x 72 inches

Before using it, I washed it in warm water a couple of times, thinking that I would get the shrinking done with. I had hung it in my shower before just to see how long it was. It was 5 inches too long... so if it shrinks a bit, it will still be long enough. Right? nope. It was several inches too short after the washing! I decided to add fabric to the length, so cut 10 inches below the hook holes, added 5 inches of pretty print canvas and it was the right length once again. An easy fix if one can sew.
Recently, I did a wash again... it had a bit of mildew on it, so it took a couple of washes, but the stains and smell did come out... But, when I hung it in the shower to dry - it was 5 inches shorter than the last time! I could arguably add yet another row of fabric below the last row and make it work yet again. And I might. BUT - I shouldn't have to!
This doesn't shrink horizontally, just vertically. I sew a lot, I use canvas a lot to make bags... I've never had fabric shrink this much. As much as I wanted to love this and as much as I love supporting American products that are natural, I can not support this product. It is not enough to have the credentials if the product doesn't do what it needs to do. This much shrinking after so long and so many hot showers is a sign of a defective product.
I cannot recommend this product nor will I buy another.
This curtain does all that, but it is a lot lighter weight than the last one I had - as in, it may be about half the weight. At first I thought that was a major drawback and just 'what I got' for not getting a really expensive one. That may still turn out to be true, but so far, it's been working perfectly fine, and because it's thinner/lighter, it dries out faster, which I think is actually an advantage in avoiding mildew.
Thinner does mean it can get completely soaked faster if the shower-head is aimed straight on it, which makes me worry that at that point it might stop being as effective, but that's just a worry; I haven't had any problems.
I'll try to remember to review it a year from now, when I'll have a better idea of how it holds up, but I've been using it for a few weeks and so far, I like it just fine.
I LOVE that it is natural material, I wanted a hemp one, but that is too spendy for me right now. This will do fine until I can get a hemp one. NO plastic toxic smell!!! YAY!

I am downgrading this to two stars because it has shrunk almost four full inches since July. It is now four inches shorter and we had to hook two shower hooks together all the way around in order to hang it so that it goes to the bottom of the shower stall. Ridiculous!
- It will shrink a lot. It will probably still be long enough (you want it just barely inside the top of your tub when dry. It will sag down further when wet.)
- Get a set of those open shower curtain hooks so it's a breeze to pop it on and off.
- Throw it in the washer & dryer with your towels every week (or two weeks, max).
- Try to close it after showering (don't leave it bunched up in a corner for days).
- It's great if you have a timer on your bathroom fan -- you can set the bathroom fan to run for about 30 minutes after you leave the bathroom to make sure everything gets nice and dry.
I expect that this will need to be replaced after a couple years of daily use, but it could easily be upcycled into a painting drop cloth or many other uses.

When the curtain first arrived, it was too long. However, I washed it in the washing machine, then very carefully dried it in the dryer...Read more
