This book is full of misinformation. There is nothing wrong with being gay and you can't change yourself into a straight person. It's something you have to come to terms with and live your life happily as you are.

This book comes strongly recommended by the bible-thumping homophobes who prey on those unfortunate enough to fall into their clutches.

Ex-gay therapy - which is what this book is about - is known to be harmful and completely ineffective. Firstly, sexual orientation is known to be biological and unchangeable (it may be fluid, but that's because life isn't black and white).

Secondly, given that homosexual behaviour exists in many other species and has never evolved out, it isn't harmful to the species and may even be beneficial. If you want to argue the same thing from the religious point of view: if God made someone gay, then God had a reason for it and it isn't for you to argue.

You can't fix what ain't broken.

My first encounter with this book was a loan by one of my lecturers during my 2nd year in Theology. I fell in love instantly and wanted so much to get a copy of my own. Found it on Amazon and its now a precious part of my library. A down-to-earth approach to counseling for those struggling with homosexuality via real life scenarios, heartfelt compassion for the hurting and a spiritual outlook on how to 'be there' for such persons. Very great 'manual' for the spiritual and open-minded counsellor. As a person living in a very homophobic environment in the West Indies - I could not have asked for a book with a wider perspective on this delicate issue. Great great read!

When my husband of 20 years began having an identity crisis problem I found the information in this book to be helpful in dealing with his feelings of homosexuality. We did infact split in the end but the split was much cleaner than it might have been had I not found this book. There is an arizona resource helpline that also assisted me and recommended this book, they can be reached at 1-480-987-3979 or 1-480-831-6200, at the later number ask for Vicki.

Real insight into this controversial watershed issue, backed up by experience and spoken with authority. Mike doesn't comprimise moral truths of scripture but teaches the compassionate approach we should take when discussing homosexuality, speaking the truth in love.
