However, I would like to comment on this particular publication, the Word Cloud Classics. The soft leather feel of the front and back covers and flexible binding is both functional and a pleasure to hold. The binding is well stitched, not simply glued like a paperback. After my first reading, the book still looks brand new-there is no detectable wear on the covers or on the spline. This is somewhat remarkable for the simple reason that, as is my custom, I carried the book with me where ever I went (work, church,.doctor, home) over the course of a week so it would always be available.
Also, this is an unabridged edition. Not only does the story get 5 stars, but so does this particular publication.
The Count of Monte Cristo (Word Cloud Classics)
But, the book is very pretty, and very affordable. I did run into an issue with the shipment. Amazon decided to ship it to me in a yellow envelope. The book came smashed, scratched, bent and deformed. They replaced it, but it seems like they really didn't think through shipping a book in such a flimsy manner. Overall I'm satisfied though.
