What is Countable? Tell your Senators and Representative what you think about how they’re doing – not every six or two years – but every day!
Countable is a platform that makes government easy, empowering voters with the knowledge and tools necessary to directly influence policy and keep track of their congressional representatives. Countable provides users with an overview of key legislation on important issues, as well as giving voters an easy way to tell their representatives how to vote. Countable provides tools to see how those representatives vote and keep them accountable.
How Countable works? Countable covers US federal legislation with state and local legislation in the works. Here you can find every bill that matters with a succinct write up. If it’s coming up for a vote, in the news, or controversial – it will be on Countable. This includes: Senate and House Bills, Senate and House simple resolutions, Conference Resolutions, and Joint resolutions.
The Countable editorial team creates objective summaries for each piece of legislation sourcing pertinent resources and providing a pro and con argument. Sources include the Congressional Budget Office, Congressional Research Service, the majority and minority committees handling the legislation, the Executive Branch, and notable news and research about the legislation. We encourage feedback – please go to http://www.countable.us to provide feedback.
About Countable
--- Hate politics? We do too! Take the politics out of it! Countable is here to bring good and responsive government to the land – to you! ---
Countable was created by a team of dedicated Americans based in San Francisco and Washington DC. We have a deep understanding of the capability of technology and believe that used properly we can make American democracy work in a fashion similar to what our founders envisioned. Our advisory team includes Joe Trippi who ran Howard Dean’s revolutionary Presidential campaign in 2004 and George Gorton, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s first hire when he ran for Governor of California.
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
It looks like it's necessary to have a facebook account to use it. I don't have one. And I didn't understand how to use it. Also, because I had also downloaded another app for something that said it was a free download, and later found out that that was just for a free trial and I would be charged after the trial, I didn't want to take a chance that this was the same.
I enjoy this app. It explains what bills the Congress is debating or looking at on a week by week basis. Explains what a yea or nay vote really means. A forum for letting your Congressman know your opinions. Unfortunately I'm not sure the Congress cares what we think.
This is a useful app to have to -hopefully keep in touch with your national legislators (US Senators and Congressman). However the app is also a bit clunky. For example, you cannot write an message to your legislators and simultaneously publish it to the open forum of other users. You must make two entries, retyping your statement if you want to post it for others to read. Then, you get on confirmation that the message you wrote is being delivered to your legislators. You might be better off writing your message directly to your legislator using their website contact The app's many pages and sections are hard to navigate if you are new or just browsing for information.
