Praise for Stable Mates:

‘Fans of Fiona Walker will love this book’ – ThatThingSheReads

'A delightful romp peppered with humour, sadness, scandal and steamy sex.'

'…reminded me of Jilly Cooper whose books I grew up with. Stable Mates is up there with Riders and Rivals. If you loved these books then you will love this one'

'…the perfect mix of horsey shenanigans, Cheshire glamour and flirty fun.'

'Fans of Fiona Walker and Jo Carnegie’s Churchminister series will love this book as it has the same mix of wonderful characters and frivolous fun, along with an interesting plot. I laughed all the way through this book and really hope she writes a follow up as I’d love to read more about these characters.'

'…reminded me of the Tilly Bagshawe novels I love, with all the scandal and drama. I don’t think I’ve read another author who writes in that kind of style without finding negative comparisons but Zara Stoneley comes into her own'

About the Author

I live in deepest Cheshire surrounded by horses, dogs, cats and amazing countryside. When I'm not visiting wine bars, artisan markets or admiring the scenery in sexy high heels or green wellies, I can be found in flip flops on the beach in Barcelona, or more likely sampling the tapas!
I write hot romance and bonkbusters. My most recent releases, ‘Stable Mates’ and ‘Country Affairs’, are fun romps through the Cheshire countryside and combine some of my greatest loves – horses, dogs, hot men and strong women (and not forgetting champagne and fast cars)!

I got one Christmas story in this series and had to get them all. It's a world that normally doesn't interest me. I don't like books where the characters are all rich. But these characters are charming and the stories hold my interest. I'll keep an eye out for a fourth, if she writes one.

The novel was released by Harper Impulse on the 7th of May and is the sequel to 'Stable Mates'. The book focuses on Charlotte, also known as Lottie, Brinkley who is on the verge of taking over her grandmother Elizabeth Stanthorpe's role as Lady of the Manor, taking the lead on all the estate business. However, they are dealing with a huge debt, so Lottie has her work cut out for her. She will need to focus on the financial side of things and come up with a plan to save the grounds of Tipping House without opening the estate to the public (clear orders from her grandmother). Thankfully, Lottie's friends are all on board to help her out. The only one to make a problem of things appears to be her boyfriend Rory, who doesn't want to change the casual life he leads with Lottie, and things get even more exciting when Lottie's ex Todd shows up completely unexpected. Question is, will Lottie be able to save both the family estate and her relationship with Rory or will she be forced to leave one of the two behind...?

This is the second part of Zara Stoneley's Tippermere series, which is filled with enough scandal, gossip, lords and ladies, horses and dogs to entertain readers for a few hours! I personally loved this sequel more than the first part of the series and enjoyed reading about the colourful group of characters even more this time around. Next to Lottie, there's a whole lot of individual characters who each add their own touch to the story, such as the lovely Amanda, handsome and Irish Mick, hilarious footballer's wife Sam, all the dogs and horses and their antics, and the stubborn Lady Elizabeth Stanthorpe (who has to be my favourite character of all).

Country Affairs is the second book set in Tippermere, Cheshire. Readers need to be aware that this is bubbling with sexual potential and edges just off the boil of a bonk buster style book. So if you choose to read this don't be shocked to find hot sexy men and women who lust after them.

However this book is much more than that. The Stanthorpe's are aristocracy, running equestrian centres and have the full stately home with leaking roof, gurgling water pipes and moth eaten carpets behind them. They live side-by-side with the rich and famous of the celebrity world who live in Kitterley Heath, to whom money is no object.

Lady Stanthorpe has decided it's time to hand over the debt and the running of Tipping House Estate to her lovable but scatty grand-daughter. Lottie must come up with a money making plan to appease the bank manager and repair the roof. Lady Stanthorpe or Elizabeth to family and friends, is a wily old Lady who manipulates people whilst swigging her G&T. Always with an ulterior motive up her sleeve she is one of my favourite characters.

Poor Lottie is stretched between her love of Tipping House and her love for the sexy Rory and their relationship is put under intense strain when plans to launch Tipping House as a wedding venue get under way. With the help of Sam, Pip and Amanda the storyline romps through a wedding with an impromptu horse jump off, a celebrity charity cricket match, horse mishaps, ex boyfriends and girlfriends and the final celebrity wedding venue showcase.

I loved the continuation of the characters and the storyline from the first book "Stable Mates" and enjoyed the more humorous storyline and a move away from the Jilly Cooper style of the first book showing Zara's own writing ability.

This review is based on a free copy of the book given to me by the author via Brook Cottage Books

It’s no secret... I already love Tippermere. In fact I love it so much I’d like to go and live there. I first visited with Stable Mates, but I needn’t have, as Country Affairs is a stand alone novel, which works just as well as a first taste of this picturesque setting, which Zara Stonely has created so perfectly. Tippermere is based on Zara's home turf of North Cheshire – the cosy pubs, stable yards, beautiful rural backdrops, country houses, and lovely villages are wonderfully drawn, and the characters and their escapades kept me smiling right through. The horsey side is similarly authentic, and the details are satisfyingly spot on.

The fab thing about Zara’s writing is that immediately you know you are in great hands. The story had an awesome beginning, and sets off at a pace, with a fab multi generational cast list, of hot guys, interesting women, dogs, horses, and oh, did I mention hot guys? Pick up Country Affairs, and you’ll be plunged into a break neck country romp, but alongside the rip roaring fun, it’s fab to find poignant, deeper moments too. But be warned, once you start, if you’re anything like me, you won’t want to put it down.
Delicious, naughty, fabulous, hilarious. I loved Stable Mates, but I love Country Affairs even more, and I can’t wait to read the next episode.
It's official, I heart Tippermere.
