I feel that it's important for people who are more overweight to see real reviews from customers like them. For that reason, I have chosen to disclose that I am a 31 year old woman who presently weighs 275 lbs. I ask that this disclosure be respected for its intended purpose, which is to evidence a true "beginner" review.

I really like this game. The dances are fun, the songs are by popular country artists, and I find myself giggling a lot as I try to get the moves down.

The pros: The dances are a great time. They're a bit more complex, which gives me more of a challenge. There is a cool effect on the dancers' outfits, where the patterns shift while they're dancing. It's hard to explain, but fun to watch. Once I get the moves down, I'm going to have a lot of fun with this game. It's lower impact and isn't too hard on my knees. I do find myself breaking a sweat when playing this game. The dances are more "authentic country" and not too geeky, so they were a lot of fun to do. The moves have a lot of attitude, and when I let my guard down and just have fun with it, I have a great time.

The cons: There are only two "line dances" - I was kind of hoping for more. The rehearsal mode is not a real help because the moves are too complicated. None of the moves are named, so it's a bit harder to figure out what move is coming up next. There are presently no new dances to purchase and download. Two player mode is a bit difficult to do, and a lot of the moves involve swinging your arms around, so I almost smacked my friend when she came over with me. We did have a lot of fun, though.

My bottom line: If you like country music and dancing, this is a fun game. The dances will give you a decent workout, and you'll have fun at the same time. Turn up the music, let down your guard, and have fun with it!

Had such a blast dancing to some of our favorite country songs! Most of the songs are fast for a beginner that has no rhythm but you will not be at a loss for fun and laughter trying and your entire body will be feeling it in just a few minutes so if you are looking for a new workout this could be it. My kids ages 6-20 had a fun time together trying to learn the steps and get the highest score. It will be loads of fun for a long time. Wish the slide bar wasn't so tricky but not too bad, just need to slow it down a notch or two in order to choose a song. I was doing it barefoot on carpet so I am sure boot scootin would be easier on wood..and in boots! Have Fun with this one!!!

I love country music and always wanted to go country line dancing, but I don't think I'd fit in at a honky tonk or whatever. So this game gives me a taste of that experience. However they don't break down or slow down the dance steps for you to catch on. This game leaves you flailing wilding in your living room. Many of the moves are elaborate and leave you going "whoa wait", "huh", or "oh shoot". Perhaps one should sit down and watch it first then give it a shot.
If you think this will be like Just Dance or Dance Central with country music it won't be. The Just Dance series does a lot of back to back repetitive moves that make it easy to catch on, this game does a variety of moves then repeats the sequence ( given like in a line dance). The Dance Central series does an excellent job of breaking down moves and giving you instructions, don't expect any tutorial with Country Dance. I do still like it because I like country music and dancing, but I don't play it not nearly as much as I thought I would

We have played it a several parties and it is always a hit.

The peole living downstairs (30 years our juniors) heard us dancing a singing, came up to investigate and joined us for hours!

Being a little older, we are not up to the hip hop or rap songs or dances.

We also enjoy the lyrics as they are much cleaner and more enjoyable - also country mucic is great.

My family and I are having fun trying to learn these moves. I think the only thing that I would change would be that you see yourself instead of a shadow image. I have the Personal Trainer and that shows you on the screen instead of a shadow image. But we are having a great time with it. Who would have thought it would bring the family together trying it!! :)

Its hard to find the time to exercise and its equally hard to find time doing something fun with my wife. We both love playing the game and my scores are always low so I assumed that there was a problem with the game but my wife does much better which just shows that I dont have much rythem or cordination. I do work up a good sweat and have fun doing it. Happy with the game!

My wife loves to dance and this makes it fun to learn. Not only do you get great music you learn a lot of new steps. This is just a fun game and there are always new down loads keeping it up to date.

I've had this game a few weeks now and overall, it's a pretty fun game. The first time I had it on, I played with it for two hours straight because I was determined to learn the steps to Barefoot Blue Jean Night. I think now that's one of the more difficult ones to learn because you face away from the screen during part of the song. Most of the other songs seem easier to me.

Pros
There's a fairly good selection of music
There's a rehearsal mode, which you can use to break the dance up in chunks, and you can replay each section as often as you like.
Besides the regular and rehearsal modes, there are also perfection and freeze modes. I haven't used them yet but they allow you to challenge yourself after you've mastered a dance.
Some people really don't like the way you imitate the dancers as if they're in a mirror, but I think that's a matter of taste. I have done many exercise videos and they all use that method.
For the most part, I didn't think the dances were too hard, but that may depend on the person.

Cons
Not all of the songs have a rehearsal mode. For those, you just have to jump in and imitate the dancers.
I don't know whether it's the configuration of my room but some of the songs were really picky...I could imitate the dancers as much as I could, and get a miss rate of 20%. Other dances were much less sensitive; I could make lots of errors and get almost no misses.
I haven't ever gone line dancing, but a lot of these dances didn't seem to be actual line dances; they just seemed to be dance routines done to country music. They were still fun, but I was expecting more line dancing.

All in all, this is a fun game and a good value for the price. If nothing else, it's a fun way to get some exercise in!
