There was plenty of drama without being over the top. E & D got their HAE only after developing a true friendship during their courtship.
The story had interesting characters, most notably Lord Henry, brother of Colonel Fitzwilliam and Earl of Matlock. Turns out, he's a male (and a bit more mature) version of Lydia, so inevitably these two hit it off and Lydia becomes Lady Matlock. And in the midst of all the plots and brouhaha, Anne actually ends up with Bingley. Turns out love is secondary to Bingley and more shallow than we assumed. I wanted to believe he was a bad guy, but he's really not. He's just not a passionate man like Darcy and Richard. But he may come off as annoying.
Speaking of Richard, don't be too worried about Jane. She ends up with Richard and they're definitely in love. She was rather devastated by Bingley's defection, but Richard saw to her needs and helped her through it.
And of course Lizzy and Darcy end up together. It was rather quick how she suddenly started loving him, but I can't complain of it. Their relationship was sweet.

Okay so why 4 stars? Well I rated it so high because the story was interesting. But it was still rather bland and didn't have a wow factor many other stories have had with me. And I'm sorry, but considering more than one author was involved in this story, I was shocked at how many blatantly careless mistakes there were mechanics-wise. I can deal with errors but these were kind of bad. That's just a personal nit pick and didn't really affect my overall rating THAT much. But it did nevertheless.
I'd say give this story a shot, especially due to the price. For a novel to be priced like a novella, I'm all for it!
Great read, but I can understand that's not to every reader taste.
