This is about the continuing life of Duncan Peters and the next generation. His children growing up before his eyes and like their parents the mistakes they make along the way.
We watch his step son Noah and his nephew Alfie become adults as they get into trouble in their teens and bond together. Ladies men and they also share the family curse of waiting too long to do the right thing. As well as his daughter taking her time to return to the one she loved as a teenager.
This is the life of Duncan as he watches his children grow up along the way and being there for them in the good and bad times. We see how his life is come full circle and the relationships that continue along the way.
We are caught up in his world as we live his life through his struggles and just being alive. Life that is not perfect with it good and bad mixed in. The mistakes we make along the way that makes us.
This book will have you laughing, gasping with complete and utter shock and have you literally throwing your kindle down and shouting OMFG! And of course, let's not forget it will have you reaching for the tissues and bawling your eyes out.
Samantha Fontien has created a perfect ending to a trilogy and one I am proud to have followed throughout its journey. If I was allowed to rate this book more then 5 stars I would, as it is worthy of so much more. ❤
Rubin is a ladies man, through and through, but most of all he is a man of honor. A man of loyalty who just has fun through life. One woman in all of his life is the only one who was ever able to reach into his soul. Their relationship is dysfunctional and will have you screaming at Miss Fontien more than once. But if you can readjust your expectations you will see why they are perfect for each other.
Duncan Peters is a good man. A solid man. He is not a ladies man (though he has his share). And his one great love is tailor made for him. A horrible tragedy will pull them apart for years. (AND I MEAN YEARS!)
At the end of the book I was left heartbroken and satisfied all at once. It's an odd feeling until you realize how truly realistic it is. The story does have a bittersweet happy ending. The tragedies that occur during this story will leave you reeling, but Samantha Fontien writes in such a way that it makes sense. I had to constantly remind myself that this is a lifetime of story.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story and the writing. Definitely a 5 star read.
Cousins-The Next Generation you see Duncan's boys they might not be his by blood but my gosh they are. The love Duncan has for them boys is so beautiful. They make mistakes as does everyone in life they turn in to fine men and its beautiful to see it. You see Duncan's little girl grow up fall in love make mistakes turns you didn't see coming but most of all the daddies girl that's just as stunning as her mum.
Yet again Samantha take you on a ride of ups and downs a beautiful love story. Yes you need tissues chocolate and wine as with every Samantha Fontien book.
A Bittersweet end ( that was hard to read as I couldn't see from the crying). Love story's from all, heartbroken but well worth the pain. Samantha has a way of breaking your heart making you feel the pain they are all having but......fixing it in very different ways you don't see coming. She is a twist and turns queen.
All this authors books are 5 stars for me. They will stay in my heart for ever. Mr.R.Miller will always be with me.
Can't wait to read more from Samantha Fontien
Samantha's writing has improved a lot since the first book and it shows in Cousins. The way she writes & the way the story is told. Beautiful & moving. It gave me goose bumps & brought tears to my eyes.
As we know Simone is pregnant (happy dance). Duncan, Simone & Noah are moving back to London to be closer to Jessica, Alfie & Blackcard. As the boys get older you can see
the trouble maker of the pair is going to be Noah, he has his mums strong mind but he seems to have traits of his father in him, which is going to be good. Alfie on the other hand never knew his dad but he has Rubin running through his veins with a little bit of Duncan thrown in there too.
Elizabeth Louise comes along not long after the move to London and in an unfortunate way, as they welcome the precious life of a beautiful baby girl they say a heartfelt goodbye to Jess. In the opening of the story you see a car crash involving Jess & a very pregnant Simone and this happens to be the outcome of the car wreck. Leaving Alfie without a Mother or Father & Duncan with a heavy heart, how do you tell a 13 year old boy his Mum has gone to join his Dad & will not be coming home.
Well Jess has all this sorted, she leaves a letter for Duncan much in the way Rubin left a letter on his passing. Jess has thought about this day and what better way for Alfie to live his life other than with Duncan & Simone.Read more ›
