Yes, I did wonder why there weren't many reviews.
Cover Me by L.A. Witt was a well written story that focuses on Nick Swain, a paramedic. His life revolves around his job which messes up all his relationships. The stress of the job, the co-workers, difficulties of dealing with bureaucrats as well as city budgets are realistic and eye opening. There isn't an agenda but an honest telling of what life is like for a paramedic.
Enter Detective Andrew Carmichael and there's instant attraction. While their relationship progresses very quickly, both Nick and Andrew are in professions where they live in the present. They go for what they want and realize it's an outlet for the stress of their job. . . But their relationship grows and they rely on each other. In Nick's case it's for safety and in Andrew's case he finally found someone that understands him in every way. It was an excellent example of why this relationship can work compared to so many statistics of cop marriages that don't.
This is a m/m hookup that works into a relationship. There are a few tender moments which notches up the romance. There are more than enough bedroom scenes to know they have . . . compatibility. Yes. So like any ambulance chaser and detective novel there are bad guys and situations. The plot is well written, the motives and reasons well explained. I always appreciated paramedics and after reading this book. . . Even if it is fiction. . .It is based on facts. Yes the job is risky. Yes they don't get paid well yet they do an excellent job and my admiration for them is even stronger. - Dan's Wife

A paramedic, a cop and a stalker. But this book was more about the chemistry between Andrew and Nick and there was lots of chemistry. Add the stresses of their job and the dangers of their work in a "bad" area and the stage was set for a story that hit my heart. Can this pair find true love while trying to save the other? The stress on the relationship is intense but so is their love and love making. Two very hot MCs written by an author who knows how to get to her readers' on many levels.
Lots of sex between the two main characters, but not something crass. You can see their feelings deepening, even though both had their problems with previous relationships because they are two persons that face their inner problems in a different way than the majority.
For those who like this kind of gender will be happy reading this one.
All in all, I enjoyed the book, even though sometimes I felt a bit stranded in a story which wasn’t going anywhere. Quite good.
