"A COWBOY FIREFIGHTER FOR CHRISTMAS is the first book in the Smokin' Hot Cowboys series by the talented storyteller, Kim Redford. This very hot and passionate love story has everything: excitement, hot sex and suspense involving a sassy and sexy woman and a proud half-Cherokee rancher. It doesn't take these two long to figure out "this time is different" for both of them. I found myself riveted to each page, waiting for the next "outbreak of fire" to hit the county. This is a very entertaining and emotional tale that is sure to delight the reader" - Fresh Fiction
"...A Cowboy Firefighter for Christmas was sweet and heartwarming. A charming town full of Christmas spirit and all the good things in life. I'd totally live there and hang out with these people. And have a damn good time doing so :D" - Herding Cats and Burning Soup

Misty comes to Wildcat Bluff, which should be known as Christmas explosion in her mind, during the time of year she carries the most baggage from her own life to investigate the mysterious fires without letting anyone know why she is there. Her first moment there, she meets sexy volunteer firefighter Trey and is faced with one of her biggest fears, a fire. The more Misty continues to investigate the fires, the more she finds herself being paired up with Trey and she doesn't known if she can trust him.
Trey loves Wildcat Bluff. It's his home and he has no intention of leaving for anyone, including the company that wants to buy part of his family's ranch. He doesn't know who is setting fires but he knows they need to stay ahead of them before the entire town is lost in a disaster. He comes across misty when he needs to help to stop a fire before it spreads and soon finds that she is his Christmas Angel.
Trey puts Misty at the top of his Christmas list and Misty is intent on leaving this town when her investigation is over...can Trey and misty learn to trust each other even while they are holding secrets?
I loved this book! I started it in the middle of a project and was upset to keep putting it down! The characters had great chemistry together from the start. While I didn't really feel that it was any mystery who was setting the fires, it didn't detract from the story of the characters for me and their search who was behind it. In fact, I may have yelled at Trey and Misty a few times that it was right there lol
Great read! Definitely worth it! 4 stars!
I received an advanced copy of the book for an honest review.
My interest in books has taken me in many different directions and introduced me to a number of characters, but Misty was a force onto herself. Having endured so much in her life and still managing to soldier on was a great credit to the character and the author. A Cowboy Firefighter for Christmas is whole new type of holiday read. A little mystery and a lot of heat.
Ok, so first things first, I was REALLY excited to read this book, a sexy cowboy firefighter, what's not to love!? The author is very detailed with this story, the entire book is only a 5 day period and it's almost 400 pages long. I was really enjoying learning about all the characters and the town, and she makes thing easy to picture. However this is a romance, and I expect my romance books to have sex scenes in them... after all the build up, and all the details to each day, the sex scene fell completely flat, like 1 paragraph flat. 3 sentences. *sigh* ok, it's still a good story line and I'm curious to see how it ends, and maybe a better sex scene towards the end? Nope. The next sex scene is a mere 2 sentences! The end felt very rushed to me compared to the rest of the book, and the last page was definitely not how I imagined it ending, but maybe I'm crazy and feel time is important in a relationship.Read more ›
This is the first novel by Kim Redford that I've read and it certainly won't be the last, and here's why. What a sweet, lovely town Ms. Redford has created with Wildcat Bluff! She's peopled it with wonderful, quirky, funny and charming secondary characters, a brave, sexy hero in Trey and a smart and sassy heroine in Misty.
Misty has traveled to Wildcat Bluff as a troubleshooter investigating a serious and costly fire at a Christmas tree farm. En route, she encounters Trey, a handsome cowboy and volunteer firefighter attempting to put out another fire single-handed. He enlists Misty's aid in dousing the flames and the attraction between them is instantaneous, although Misty is cautious about entirely trusting him, and the only explanation she gives him for being there is that she's on vacation--it is the Christmas season, after all.
Trey's family has had a ranch in Wildcat Bluff for generations, and he too is suspicious about the recent spate of fires in the area, wondering if they're being set by the same company who owns the tree farm, as a way of forcing his family off their land. They are also in the middle of a serious drought, which may mean that the fires could simply be due to a careless smoker tossing a lit cigarette from a car window. So, in addition to a great little town, a terrific cast of characters (I definitely see spin-offs in the future) and a wonderful hero and heroine, we also have an intriguing mystery to solve, and much to my delight, there's even a Hemingway tuxedo kitty rescue included. (I'm partial to tuxies and own a Hemingway tuxedo kitty).Read more ›
