Brock and Dana learn to trust themselves and each other. I was struck by how often we think we know someone...or ourselves...but life finds ways of showing us there is always so much more to learn. I enjoyed the journey Dana and Brock took because of the love each has for a baby who needs them. It was a pleasure to see two people who were not adversaries and did the best they could for "the little man". They were haunted by Dana's murdered twin sister's low life husband, Derrick, who believed the baby, Jeremy, was his. Dana had taken Jeremy to Brock, the baby's real father, because she feared what would happen to Jeremy if left with Derrick. Derrick proved he was not above using the baby to manipulate Dana, and then Brock.
Michelle Hughes writes about complex characters in interesting, we'll plotted stories. I especially loved Brock's large Dixon family who teased and fought, but gave each other unquestioning love and support when needed. I look forward to many more books about the Dixon family.
Cowboy Sanctuary is a wonderful romance/suspense/cowboy story. The revolving first person worked great in the story. I liked living the story from both Dana and Brock’s points of view.
I liked this book. Very predictable but a good quick read. Dana runs to Dixon Ranch with her nephew for safety and because Brock Dixon is Jeremy's father and doesn't know it. Danielle, Dana's twin sister, was in an abusive relationship and things take a turn for the worst. Dana meets the Dixon clan and realizes that she loves them all. Danielle's husband is now trying to track down Dana and Jeremy. A lot of romance and little suspense. I will try another one of this author's books.
