First the Con: I was hoping to use this for hair light accent, but it spills over a bit onto areas I don't want it to. But on the Pro side: It works really well for special effects when doing profiles/silhouettes etc.. It is a good addition to my equipment, but be aware: The snoot does get hot with the modeling lights after a short period of time..... 10-15 minutes. No smoke like some mentioned, but very hot! (not sure what time frame they're referring to). But when I'm in between shooting/setting something up, I shut the light off just as a precautionary measure.
I don't know that it would melt, but it does get pretty hot to the touch, and I don't think I want to test to see just what would happen if it were left on for any extended period of time.

I bought the Cowboy Studio JTL Photo Studio Snoot for Strobe light together with the the Cowboy Strobe because it appeared in the advertisement that both items were sold together and fit. However, when the items arrived, the Snoot DOES NOT fit the Strobe even though they recommend that the items are sold together.

Again, the cost of returning the item outweighs the cost of the purchase, so I am stuck with the Snoot that doesn't fit. This purchase leaves me with a bitter taste as it is clearly misrepresented. Don't make the mistake I made. Shame on you Amazon!

This snoot I was attempting to put on my speedotron flash head but it is too small to fit around the entire unit. As it turns out though, it is small enough to fit snuggly over the flash bulb itself. Might not be a good idea for long term use but for the 10 minutes I have it over the head to create a hair light... for $20 it beats the pants off the hundreds it would cost for a metal speedotron compatible snoot. Great alliterative. If you are okay with being creative to save money (which i suggest of any photographer) then this is the piece for you. Save tons of $$ and shove it in your wallet instead :).

This snoot is simplicity itself, just attach it to the front of the strobe and fire away. It's a snoot, and does what you would expect it to do. I would recommend turning off the modeling light though, since this is plastic and would be damaged by excessive heat.

Used this with my cowboystudio 400w, 600w, and Alien Bee B1600. It's too short, gets very hot, and started to smell it cook after using for about 10 minutes on the cowboystudio strobes. It works a big better on my Alien Bee but still not quite up to par. I went ahead and ordered a different brand (and more expensive) metal snoot which is longer and made out of metal.

The snoot is not very long. It is about 8 inches long; however, for those of you who have purchased the Neewer 250W or 300W strobe lights, it actually fits without an adapter. It is plastic and rather sturdy.

the snoot arrived today and it does the job . I was under the impression it was made for the Cowboy Studios Little backlight strobe but it does not fit , it is quite a bit larger but for me thats not a problem I just lined the end that goes over the light with cardboard and now it fits just fine . Its a well made unit and the fit was not enough to do anything less than a 5 star . I am sure I will be getting plenty of use out of my snoot .
