Joy Quinlan, one of the Quinlan Quads, tries to embody her name, but it was merely a facade. She was worried that none of the Culpepper cowboys would want her, but Kolby was immediately by her side. Kolby knew Joy was the girl for her, but he had once loved hard and deep... only to lose her to the "great underwear model caper" last winter. He thought he was no longer capable of love, but how do you distinguish between love and affection?
Frankly, compared to book 2, this book was just a snoozer. as the chemistry between the two characters were merely adequate, and the final solution was a simple "change of heart". Thus, average rating.
When all the girls take a pregnancy test at the same time, Joy and Faith are both pregnant. Joy tells Kolby that night about the pending baby and he is happy, but does not say anything. Then she tells him she loves him and he says, "thank you".
Joy has been told all her life that she has to always be happy, bring Joy to others; but this time she is not happy and doesn't want to be.
This is a good story about letting go of hurts and gives an interesting mode of getting rid of your anger. A good read and now on to Chastity' s story.
For me falling into a story where I can not wait to check in with the characters is a mark of a great book and Author.
The Cullpepper's are those characters. This series offers real struggles if daily life, a love of god, family, and the importance of familial roots.
