" Coyote " by Della Van Hise

This book cannot be categorized in any particular genre. In a way , it en compasses them all.

You do not have to agree with her mysticism or her view of life to love this story. ( My knowledge of the Martial arts began and ended with " Kung Fu " on TV and I am , if nothing else , a hard headed realist.

" Coyote " is a tale for the world weary. It grabs you and helps you soar to new heights. Della says , " Come and see what I see, I will take you there. "

And she does just that.

You can exercise your imagination and see again the wonder you lost when you grew up. It will take you out of your life into the possibility of a new and different existence.

A world where your dreams are a reality and you can live them to the fullest.
It is an adventure , a love story , a thriller , all in one.

Della has a talent few can match. Her prose is almost poetic. Her command of the language is incredible. You want to reread passages just to see them again. A Master at work.

She knows her craft and executes it flawlessly.

I have crossed the desert several times and although I have not seen any UFOs or alien corridors, I have seen the stars come down to earth in their awesome brilliance.. I does seem a different world, one Della describes in loving detail.

So if you want to relive the wonder. It is found in the pages of Della's book.

Loved the book ! It is an incredible sci fi story! Without giving too much away I can tell you it tells the story about running from the law, hiding in the desert of California, martial arts , doorways into another alien world, existing here on our planet, just in another dimension, an alien encounter , the Roswell UFO crash , a successful rescue mission, romance, love and honor. The book held me in suspense from the first to the last page. If you can think outside of the box, I whole heartedly recommend it to you .

Coyote is a layered, imaginative and visionary novel on many levels. As always, van Hise's writing is masterful in its subtlety and control yet always involving and surprising. She knows exactly how to employ her unique and evocative style to best effect. The novel itself is as complicated as the concept of the title. The sense of danger is always maintained while giving us a deep insight into the characters and their complicated relationships. I read this when it first came out and it has remained with me. River's life will never be the same, and the reader will experience reality in a different context after reading "Coyote."
