This story is about Blue and Willa, an Alpha coyote and a neurotic demigoddess. He is in Maria to help straighten out the coyotes there, as she can't be assertive enough. We meet them after he's been there a frustrating six months, and follow them through their process of learning to trust and love each other. Throwing some immortals, junior high band, a Greek chorus of raccoons and some churros. Mix briskly and enjoy while it's hot.
You're looking thin. Go look up the rest of Holley's catalog.
The readers are also kept glued to the pages by the suspense that builds throughout the story regarding their respective fathers who cause some major conflicts for Willa and Blue and what their future has in store for them. Lots of action and thrills to keep reader’s on the edge of their seats but what’s more, the author adds some unexpected twists to keep readers guessing as to what will happen next or even if Willa and Blue shall overcome some major obstacles in their search for their happily ever after.
Holley Trent has added another enchanting book to her growing list of wonderful books as I was totally captured by Willa and Blue’s story and I can’t wait for the next Master of Maria book.
***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I received a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book! I will collect this whole series eventually!
The cover is not my favorite because I usually like the animals more present on the cover.
This is the 4th book in the series, and it is for adults only. I couldn’t put this book down. I highly recommend reading the series in order because the series together is worth more than each part individually. I really love this world that Holley Trent has created in Maria, and I will continue reading all of her works.
This is Blue and Willa’s story. If you have read this series, you know these characters and how they came to be acquainted. I did not really understand Willa until this book. My heart broke for her and all she has endured in the past and present. Blue is trying to gain his freedom from his father. I really like Blue’s sister too! I hope she gets to have her HEA too! I enjoyed their story and all the twists and turns along the way.
I highly recommend to any paranormal fans who love complex mixed worlds with angels, demons, demigods/goddesses, gods/goddesses, shifters, fae, witches, and so much more. This was an awesome read, and I can’t wait to see what Holley comes up with next in Maria!
The coyote pack in Maria has been out of control for more than the hundred plus years the demIgoddess, Willa Matheson, has been their patron. Stripped of her powers when a child by her vengeful and capricious god father, she has no leverage with them. So she hires Blue Shapley, the dominant son of the alpha of the Sparks pack to be her pack's alpha, to get them into compliance so they don't reveal themselves to humans. But every time Blue tries to impose order or discipline, the tender hearted Willa undermines him. After six months of battling with her and getting nowhere, Blue decides to try a different tack. He sets out to get to know her, to understand her. And what he finds under the surface shocks him, intrigues his animal, and sets him on a course of action that will put him on a collision path with not only his own father, but Willa's as well.
