I bought this as an alternative to bigger, traditional heating pads since I only really needed it for those glorious monthly cramps. The size is perfect for resting on your aching, seizing uterus, and the hand pockets are great for when you are doubled over in the fetal position and need to maintain the strategic location of this Cozy Spot on the spot in need of being cozy. I also like the soft, plush fabric that covers the heating pad. It feels like those super soft plush blankets and pillows. However, this comfortable fabric is pretty thin, so I won't be surprised if I end up ripping it a bit while burrowing my hands into the front pocket. I'm only giving this product 3 stars because, while it pumps out a good bit of heat at first, it seems to turn itself off after only 20 minutes. Maybe I was just acclimating to the warmth so it only seemed to stop putting off heat, but regardless, I was a bit disappointed. Also, it had a very distinct plastic smell the first time I turned it on. It has started to fade a bit, but I was afraid that the scent was a sign of a wiring issue that would eventually lead to a meltdown of some sort. That being said, I probably won't be falling asleep with the Cozy Spot on anytime soon--JUUUUST in case. While the size, price, and appearance of this item are fitting for the extent of my uses, I would probably just spend the extra few bucks and buy a standard heating pad that has some temperature choices, though it definitely won't be as snuggle-worthy. This would be great for keeping at the office though.
Smells very strongly of toxic chemicals, right out of the box. Whether this would have cleared up with time (translation: whether I could have successfully transferred the chemicals from the product to the air in my house) I don't know, add I returned it. I figured that warming up the product would only exacerbate the problem. I had another product that gave off a similar chemical (it was coming from the cord) and it took several months of hanging outside before it didn't stink anymore. Has anyone tried that with this? It's too bad because it's hard to find a heading pad this size. I wanted it for soaking seeds, grains, etc overnight on my counter a la Nourishing Traditions, and it would have fit nicely under a flat-bottomed Pyrex bowl. Also the orange color is not like what you see in the picture. I really love the color orange, but this is a little too traffic-coney for me. Not total traffic cone, but on the spectrum. One more complaint (gee, I really didn't love this thing): the nice, soft fleece you see on the outside is not also inside the hand pouch. Well, it is on one surface of the inner pocket but not the other, so it's less cozy than it looks.
Love this small and soft pad. Curves around my shoulder, stays put, and evenly heats. With our new truck with plug in, I am going to buy another for traveling. One small con: no adjusting temp. I do turn pad over when heat builds up. One side is heating unit and other side is multilayered (where your hands can go) and this solves that.
this is one great little heating pad I read some reviews that said it did not get to hot it only has one setting well I will tell you I had to use it over my shirt for my back because mine got to hot love it
