Wow! What a piece of junk...i received this nit cracker sunday august 26th...i had used it to crack maybe 30 almonds...it broke into today after having only owned it for 3 days...i would suggest to look elsewhere for a nut cracker..it did feel heavy and solid...that doesn't amount to much though if it breaks!
Update 9/4- i was sent a replacement nut cracker and it deformed basically after shelling 10 almonds. I definitely would not recommend this item for cracking almonds. My suggestion would to get a set of vice grips and set the spacing so that it is about 1/2 inch open at the mouth. That worked so much better for me!
