This book isn't about coding, HTML, CSS, etc. etc., it is a detailed plan of attack to create a website which can be easily found and which will convert visitors into loyal customers. Each chapter is bursting with actionable information with no fluff. I've seen numerous courses charging big bucks to teach this same information, but hopefully, I won't need to spend the money now. Watch this space for updates as I put this book to use.
From reading the book I learnt that it wasn't as complicated as I thought but it did require planning. The book taught me how to plan my content and who to aim it at.
I liked the 10 essential ingredients every website needs, my ideas really started to flow by reading that chapter. It made me put pen to paper and I could see that I could set up my own website and it wasn't as scary as I thought.
I loved the way the book has bullet points and is methodical just by reading it you can create and envision how your website is going to look and who your target audience will be and also how to keep people coming back to your website.
I would definitely recommend the book it really is all you need to set up your website, it's simple to understand and it gives you all the tools you need, there is so much information it's literally a step by step guide to setting up your own website.
I loved the way the book was presented very simple to understand, the little quotes from entrepreneurs are great and you finish the book believing not only that you can set up a website yourself but that it will be amazing too.
As I started building my third website recently and I'm improving my skills as I go, Janice's book is helping me along so I remember what's next now. I already read the whole thing once; highlighted and bookmarked what was relevant for me in this process, and now I'm going through the whole thing again (scanning, sort of) as I work on my website, to make sure all the important parts are covered.
The bonus content is also valuable material.
I had a hard time getting through the book. I was distracted by her ideas for helping maximize the use of a website in being found and getting its point across to viewers, I wanted to try them right away. I had to settle for reading it now; I will be carefully going over the workbook for getting the most out of my website.
I'm reading "Cracking the Website Code" a second time to be certain I don't miss any of the gems it contains. Really good stuff!
