This saw will last until the motor quits. Great top, good fence, easy to adjust, very nice stand.
UPDATE: I have used this saw for a year, and it flat-out works. Sadly, I will eventually replace it because the non-standard miter slots are problematic when it comes to buying add-ons. When I do sell it, whoever gets this saw will get a saw that works as well as brand new. But for the price and the quality, I wouldn't drop my rating even if it fails tomorrow. If I had room, I'd keep this for long rips, and use my future saw for box joints, slotting, and creating intricate molding.
I'm bummed. It's one of my favorite tools.
At any rate, this would probably be great with softer woods. For ripping plywood or pine 2x4's this would probably work great. I just need more precision for food grade products I'm making so I need to spend a bit more money.
in a small 10x10 shop dust is a major concern.
dust collection does not exist "as is" delivered. i ended up using Styrofoam to fill the gap between the table and body. i then used foam board and painters tape between the saw and the stand with a dryer vent elbow in it. my shop vac did not have the suction to keep the spinning blade from throwing dust into my face. ended up using a leaf blower/vac/mulcher. ( see pic)
i would not buy this saw again of recommend it.
