I am an amateur woodworker. I mill my own wood and turn it into furniture. I use this saw all the time. It is one of my go to tools. I just taught myself to use it to cut dovetail joints into posts and cut the slats to fit them. I was cutting the dovetails with my bandsaw but after a little experimenting I found the table saw to be quicker and easier. The two methods of guiding the wood through the saw ( rip fence or miter gauge) makes it easy to perform repeatable cuts.
