This was a book I was introduced to in the early 1970"s by a first grade teacher. Kids loved the story and they then made the Cranberry Bread in school. The teacher created a lesson around the recipe, teaching measuring, mixing and vocabulary based on the recipe. For years the book was unavailable-out of print. Nevertheless I had the recipe and have made it every year since then. Back then, the teachers were allowed to make food with the children and the cooks in the cafeteria would bake it. The parents were permitted to bring in the food, with the teacher bringing in a turkey and the class had a pre Thanksgiving Dinner. Great Book, delicious recipe!!! Definitely try it.
