Benefits of This Crane Humidifier
Humidifiers are an ideal choice for relieving the discomforts of nasal congestion, dry itchy skin, chapped lips, nose bleeds, and dry throat. The moisture that humidifiers add to dry air helps alleviate common nuisances brought on by winter heating, such as static electricity, peeling wallpaper, and cracks in paint and furniture. Many pediatricians recommend the use of a humidifier to help relieve congestion from the common cold and flu as an alternative to over-the-counter cough and cold medicine.
Straightforward, Whisper-Quiet Operation
Crane's cheerful design complements any children's bedroom decor. Not only are Crane humidifiers adorable, but they are also easy to use, and include a built-in auto-shut-off feature that engages when water tank is empty to ensure safety. Plus, they require less power than a standard light bulb. The whisper-quiet operation helps provide for a good night sleep for everyone.
Operating the Crane Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier requires only a few easy steps. Simply remove the water tank from the unit, unscrew the tank cap, and fill the one-gallon water tank under a water faucet. Securely replace the tank cap, making sure the rubber cap seal is in place, and place the water tank back onto the unit. Place the humidifier on an elevated surface and set it to a medium output setting for comfortable room humidification.
If you have a lot of minerals in your tap water, it is recommended to use distilled water, filtered water, or a Crane demineralization filter (HS-1932). Place humidifier on an elevated surface and not on carpet, towel, or sensitive wood furniture.
Cleaning and Storage
Frequently cleaning your humidifier is very important. Crane recommends emptying the water in the basin daily, making sure you pour away from the fan air-outlet. Disinfect the water basin and tank weekly by using a white vinegar and fresh water solution, let sit for 30 minutes, then rinse. For convenience, the Crane Descaler solution HS-1933 is also available. It is important to disinfect and dry completely before storage.

A week short of 9 months, my wife filled it and turned it on. It made a load buzzing noise, then some smoke and burning smell. This happened in about 5 seconds, she turned it off immediately, the smoke and smell happened after she turned it off. We just unplugged it and left it a lone...
I was not happy but the next morning I emailed them and less then 2 hours later had a reply with full instructions! I filled out the form for a Return Authorization Number and got it that afternoon. I only had to send the email, receipt and 6 inches of the end of the power cord.
Four days later, I received an email saying they had gotten the package that morning and that a new one was on the way with UPS tracking number. From my first email to new Dragon, 10 days!
This humidifier is nearly silent. It has only a very very slight background hum as it runs (great white noise). The mist is wonderful and dissipates quickly into the air. The knob on the front is to adjust the mist to exactly the right setting for you. There are no filters inside to clean. I've had it running non-stop except to clean it.
Speaking of cleaning, it's very easy to do. You definitely want to clean any humidifier you buy; the water in the basin will grow algae and have a bacteria bloom so clean it at least once a week. If you follow the simple directions in the box it takes maybe five minutes.
This is great for a bedroom. The room ours is in is about 12'x12' and it's wonderfully humid within an hour at maximum output.
The only thing that took me aback a little bit is where the mist comes out. With a dragon you'd think it would come out the nostrils or mouth, right? Nope . . .top of the eyeballs. I understand why it's there (to spray the mist as high as possible for maximum dissipation) but still, it looks a little weird. Ah well. I look a little weird too but I still function perfectly. ;)
Overall, you can't go wrong with any of the Crane animal humidifiers.
So after reading some reviews I purchased this humidifier. We have been using it now for 4 months and I couldn't be more pleased!
This cute little dragon makes using a humidifier fun. As written in other reviews the steam does come out the eye sockets rather than the nostrils, which would make a little more sense for a dragon. But it's really not a big deal.
It's super easy to clean and the motor is housed under everything that comes in contact with water. So you can be sure nothing is building up over time.
I run ours every night through the winter to relieve my sons' chronic stuffiness and allergy issues. I clean it once or twice a week with hot water and vinegar as per the directions. The water basin is a little bit cumbersome to fill while holding with one hand due to the round shape but it's not a big deal. This has been worth every penny spent!

Very cute, Works great and has a nice-sized reservoir.
A very picky comment: the mist comes out of the eyebrows and would look better coming out of the nose. Read more
Nice and quiet and my son loves it. We couldn't use the loud humidifier that we previously owned because he hated the noise and would wake up and turn it off. Read morePublished 3 months ago by Avid Reader
