The characters, Troy and Megs, (a nickname that bothered me every time it was said) are okaaaay...but their emotions and motivations flip on a dime.
Plus the conflict in the story (in both books in this series, actually) is never compelling enough to seem plausible or hold the reader's interest.
The reasons these two aren't together from day one are pretty flimsy.
After they get together, more predictable drama ensues. Just not very exciting or surprising.
AND, most importantly, for a Rock Star book, there's really ALMOST NO Rock Star stuff happening here. They're never on stage, the paparazzi are never seen...a couple of people recognize Troy and ask for autographs, but that's it.
Kind of a let down. After all, that's why I read this genre, for the rock glam, baby! Not to see them live quiet lives.
Sometimes it felt like they were in a small, Midwest town the way they walked around and nobody noticed.
Every time they mentioned they were in NY, I was like, oh right!
I grew up in NY and I wouldn't even describe NON-celeb lives in such a boringly tame way, living in Manhattan.
Better end this review before I take it down another star. ;)
I really enjoyed getting to read Megs and Troy's story, especially after meeting them in High Strung (Dan and Ash's book). Megs has this way about her that really draws Troy in, but he won't go past the whole "Friends" thing because of Dan and Ash being together and he doesn't want to make everything awkward if him and Megs did not work out.
The sexual tension and chemistry that exists between Megs and Troy is awesome. These two can say they are friends all they want, but you can feel it through you Kindle how much these two want each other and how much they belong to one another.
Megs knows she can't get Troy out of her mind, and finds a way to get him to agree to a one night, no holding back, get this out of their system deal, and then the next morning back to being friends. Troy was skeptical at first, but definitely gets on board with Megs.
Even though Megs and Troy have one hot and special night, walking away as just friends becomes very difficult for the two of them. Neither one of them is willing to tell the other they want more, so what happens next is a ton of misunderstandings and hilarious and awkward moments between these two before they finally get it right.
Megs and Troy's story is beautiful and I absolutely adored them. Both of them are a little crazy, but they belong together, just in the first few chapters you know these two are going to be hard to keep apart.Troy Harris... well let me say, I DEFINITELY swooned hard for him, the things he does, and says.. wow! He's definitely making his way up the book boyfriend list!
This book is hilarious, I think I laughed more in Crash Ride then I did in High Strung. Crash Ride is definitely emotional though, I wasn't expecting some of the things that happened in this book to happen, so there were times I wanted to cry for the characters and what they were going through. I loved getting to see more of Ash and Dan, and the rest of Power Station.
If you're looking for an amazing book that will have you drawn in from the first chapters, definitely pick up Crash Ride by T. Gephart! This book will have you laughing, crying, and falling in love!
I absolutely loved the fun sexy story of Megs and Troy Harris! I'm not a huge fan of rock star books. I only read one other author with a rock star series who I won't name cause this review is all about Ms Gephart.
I was completely blown away this time around with Crash Ride! Megs was HI-larious!!! OMG the thoughts from this woman's head will leaving you tearing up from laughter. She was such a fun, strong, sexy lady who was completely in love with her rock God Troy Harris.
Troy was awesome, super sexy, and sporting some hot below the belt jewelry. He was so refreshing as a leading man. He was not arrogant or cocky. Just a man in love with music and blessed to be living his life. He also love Megs fiercely. They hesitated to pursue a relationship having their best friends be in a relationship but their chemistry was off the charts and there was no denying what they had. The sex scenes were deliciously hot and Ms Gephart is one of the best at delivering a hot steamy scene and that's no exaggeration.
This is a must read and I know I will be adding this to my short list of re-reads as well!
You can't read this book and not love Megs. She has fantasizes over Troy before the days she ever met him. She is strong, career driven, comical and fun.
As Megs would say, 'Troy Harris' is most certainly a book boyfriend.
Awesome sex scenes, a little drama, lots and lots of laughter, a few tears and by the end, a warm smile.
We get lots more of Dan and Ashley too. Dan hasn't changed one bit. The air-headed dumb**s that I love.
Dual POV. Love that.
Now onto Jase's story. Don't know much about him other than he's the only Power Station star that's still single. There is also a bet at the end of the book on how long it takes for him to find a girl. Can't wait to find out who wins.
