About the author

Zoey Ellis writes dark, magical, fantasy romances about tortured, possessive, alpha anti-heroes and the sassy heroines who belong to them (even if they don't want to!). Filled with passionate, carnal steam, Zoey's stories feature couples that go through tough journeys and make mistakes but ultimately have to grow for each other to survive the dark worlds they inhabit.
Described as 'deliciously dark' and 'unputdownable', Zoey's thrilling, fantastical romances come complete with roller-coaster twists and turns, unique worlds, and happy endings.
Zoey is a Londoner, cat mama, and proud romance and epic fantasy addict. She loves jealous/possessive heroes, sexual tension that jumps off the page, and memorable, magical worlds. She reads most genres of romance and has a special love for the 'true mates' trope and dark angst.

What did I like? This book has more story than hot scenes. The author really delves into the Mother’s that run the Omega compound and how this all began. Drocco doesn’t change, if anything in this book he is more driven. Cailyn has many purposes in this book but her biggest concern is for the Omega’s. This is a remarkable book, and just sets the stage for the next series.
Would I recommend or buy? Yes, I have an ebook and a paperback. This is my favorite Omegaverse series, and I’ve reread it over and over. I like the story dynamics, and the alpha that is over the top aggressive. If nonconsent is a trigger then move on. I see a ton of one star reviews, and it’s really not fair to the author.
Thoughts for the author? This author is amazing. I’m hoping she writes more of this series. I love the covers of this series and pretty much all the novellas too. Five stars of entertainment!
This was a great omegaverse series. It was very similar to Addison Cain's Born to be Bound series. Though I do think I liked Shepard just a bit more but only a little. Because he was enchanted with his omega even though he cheated on her and that made him a total turd biscuit. Though I did enjoy the growth of both of these Alphas. How they had to learn more about their Omegas. The one thing I did appreciate about this book over Cain's is Cailyn was actually in the wrong on occasion. She had to actually redeem herself, at least in this book.
It was a great series, very much in line with you would expect from an Omegaverse book. Alpha that has to learn how to respect his Omega while there are underlying things they learn to fight together. It was very enjoyable. I read the whole series in two days and it was time well spent.
It is definitely dark and the first book is the roughest. I mean that quite literally. So know what you're jumping into before you jump. Drocco does not suffer betrayal and liars well. Be warned.
Mild SPOILERS ahead . . . .
The first half of the book we see a Cailyn that is struggling to understand how she has been lied to and manipulated by the Omega Mothers. She struggles to understand how they have been using her and what the reason for it was. I absolutely loved how Drocco and Cailyn came to choose each other and as a couple they grew and overcame huge advertises. There are still some things up in the air and not as well defined but Ms. Ellis does a very good job of spinning her world and arcs together. Her characters are complex and flawed but at the same time one can only root for them to find each other and prevail. Special kudos for mentioning how Cailyn felt about her body and how the bond helped her understand how Drocco felt for her (it made the story real and tender at the same time).
Brilliant trilogy well done Ms. Ellis well done!
