Craveman proves the Nuge proves can still churn out likeable, loutish lyrics with unwavering energy and conviction. "Rawdogs & Warhogs" is "Dog Eat Dog" for the new millennium, while "Klstrphnky," though offensive lyrically ("Look at all the dirty nookie / It's all infected HIV!"), explores the nu metal vein with surprising musicality. While songs and solos sometimes sound recycled, Craveman is one of Nugent's stronger recent efforts, thanks to well-crafted songs that are by turns patriotic, boastful, and silly. Ultimately, they're as earthy, powerful, and primal as the macho man who's created them. --Katherine Turman

Still 'raw dogs and warhogs' is a great song that could fit on any nuge cd. "pussy whipped" is a cool song too.
There's other good ones, a some I just barely liked at all, but this is not the typical straight melodic ted pretty much , it's recorded very loudly, I like recorded cleanly better , then you can turn it up on your own. To me this is ted's worst , but it's still a good average metal cd that's more thrashy. Ted fans will want this one last. other than perhaps 'marriage on the rocks' which is a ted and amboy dukes cd from 1971. THat was imo worst till this one. However, ted's worst still has excellent guitar playing on it. And the band is tight. It's a mixed bag, and I can listen to every song on it without moving on. That's better than alot of artists weakest releases! And I have all of ted's stuff that I could find including a rare radio show on cd. so.... I love ted's music obviously, this one is my least fave but it's still better than many others in the metal field today.

Highlights? all of it, opening with 'KLSTRPHNKY',which had appeared as an instrumental on the previous years 'Full Bluntal Nugity Live 'release, this is simply amazin',a down and dirty riff that rattles the speakers,Ted's manic vocal in the back ground, indeed he sounds manic several times thru the course of this album.
Tracks such as 'Crave' and 'Raw dogs & War Hogs' have a direct conduit back to the 70's,while those such as 'At Home There' can be tracked back to the blues.
He's clearly having fun on this disc,as 'Wang Dang Doodle' is a playful nod the the classic track from CAT SCRATCH FEVER,while 'Earthtones is a beautiful instrumental highlighting yet again what a superb guitar player he is..
Sound quality is superb, band is on fire Mendoza still on Bass ,although Tommy Aldrige has been replaced by Tommy Clufetos on Drums, still makes for a stunning rythmn section. His old partners from Damn Yankees co write a couple of tracks, indeed 'Damned If Ya Do' could easily have sat on one of their albums.
5 stars all the way stunning
