Great putty!
This firm putty was exactly what I wanted. It initially looked kind of hard and gross, but it softened up quickly when I took it out of the tin the first time and began squeezing and pulling it. It didn't change color quickly at all, but it seemed like it needed to be activated. I divided the putty in half and held the one half in my hands for quite some time, and then it finally began to lighten and eventually ended up the light color on the packaging (a very light blue or light teal). That "activated" half changed its color quickly the next time I used it, while the other half didn't at first (see picture). After a couple days of use, it's all the same now. My kids (5 and 2) love this putty, and so do I.

This is great putty! For everyone who was "disappointed" that is was all "stuck to the lid" or the "colors were mixed"....that's not a flaw! They putty starts dark blue and turns almost whiteish blue as it warms with your hand. If you separate it into halves and let one piece cool (just set it in the container or even put in the fridge if you really want), play with the other half, then roll both out to strings, twist it up you can have it just like the container shows. It also glows for a very long time! Ignore the bad reviews! This is an amazing brand and the (what I would call) false reviews should be ignored. It peels right off of any part of the container. Its designed to flatten out as it sits, so if it was shipped on its side, it will look "melted to the side" but is easily removed for use. Its not a slime, its a putty to play with, so its a harder consistency. If its hard to open after shipping, let it sit flat for a bit until it flattens down to the bottom and it will open easier. My 3yo son plays with it and its not messy unless you literally let. child just set the whole thing on fabric and leave it there for an hour....but even then, it sometimes still peels off. Great product, fun to poke holes and pop/snap the bubbles, stretch, mold, etc. Unless you are completely negligent, don't worry about it fallimg on fabric, it picks back up unless left there to "melt in". Also doesn't dry if lid is left off.

I'd regretted not getting this putty last time it went out of stock, really glad it came back!
The colors are prettier than pictured, though since it's so tough it takes some effort to get it warm enough. I love the pearly shimmer, especially in the sunshine, and it really does glow green in the dark after being in the sun for a short while.
The texture is a lot tougher than most thinking putty though, it'll definitely strengthen my hands with use. It also snaps easier when stretched.

My 4 1/2 yr old grandson loves this stuff! He will play with it for hours. That being said, it does require supervision due to potential to seep into fabrics, upholstery, and carpet, sticking heavily and leaving an oily looking stain if it does come out. Thus four stars. For older children and adults, I'd give it five stars, but for little ones, they will definitely require supervision. The product guidelines say 12 months to 10 years which I believe is absurd. There is NO WAY I'd give this to a child 3 and under. Especially a child that still puts things in their mouth. It does what it says if you follow the directions. It came very stiff and required a lot of manipulation to soften up, but it warmed and softened, becoming the lighter color. Putting one in the freezer or on the windowsill when very cold outside, darkened the color.

Great amount of putty for the price. Ordered this because I wanted a larger amount and the price for this color etc was lower than others I found. This was our first purchase of Crazy Aaron's brand putty so we didn't know what to expect. The color changing effect does not happen right away but we were pleasantly surprised to see the color change after we had worked through the putty for a while. The color change happens quicker if you work with smaller chunks. We did put some in our fridge and watched the color get a deeper blue. Overall, it was a neat purchase and we enjoyed it alot.

I put this in my kid's easter basket. We got the "emerald sky" It does change colors with heat. It does glow but barely. The texture is amazing. At first, I was so disappointed. It was too hard and it was all "melted" to one side of the tin. I quickly realized how it softened up while you worked it. Everyone in my family loves this stuff. We break it into three pieces when playing board games so everyone gets some. I am seriously stingy and I promise you, if you have a fidgeter, this stuff is worth it.

These are a bit pricey, but worth it if you have busy kids. I homeschool and my daughter was having troubles retaining the information I was giving her. I noticed how fidgety she was and decided to get her something to play with while I taught her. It's been a night and day difference. She now remembers extremely detailed information. Now that she has something to mess with, it keeps her hands busy and therefore allows her to focus on school work.
