Two days later, I tore into the packaging like an angry grizzly, and was immediately rewarded with a warm, comfortable pair of slippers. They definitely enhance any sort of slipper type activity, including but not limited to: lounging, lazing, lying about, shuffling groggily to the door to let the dogs out, Netfl-errr, Amazon Prime movie marathons (wink, wink), reading tales of rugged outdoorsmanship while safely ensconced in your boring suburban life while "seriously considering" quiting your job and selling everything and just getting back to basics and living off the land and building a cabin and man you should really just GO FOR IT, YA KNOW? and then reconsidering, puttering, putting off those weekend chores, being sick but still kind of miserably happy, cuddling, letting people in your early morning physics classes at a demanding university know that even though you are a genius and buckling down hard you still know how to have fun, sleepovers, late long breakfasts, trying to figure out if the furry lifestyle is really for you, and of course, napping (my favorite).
I only have two minor issues with them: one, the soles are a tad thin, but then again, they're slippers, so what do you expect? I don't think they'll hold up for years of use, but for the price they're fine. Two, apparently my understanding of "business casual" is a bit off, and these slippers aren't "appropriate" or "send the wrong message to clients" according to certain HR departments. Well why do they even include "casual" in the phrase then, Kevin? THEY'RE CLOSED TOED, DAMMIT, THAT'S WHAT THE GUIDELINES SPECIFY. NO WHERE DOES IT SAY I CAN'T BE COMFORTABLE WHILE I DO MY JOB, KEVIN. STOP INFRINGING ON MY RIGHTS, YOU FASCIST!
Anyway, I highly recommend these slippers to anyone. The LG fits very comfortably on my 10-11 (depending on brand) feet, and would probably be equally as comfortable up or down a size.
My husband is always hot. Yet he can comfortably wear these slippers for hours without complaint. I ordered him a large, his foot size is 10 1/2. They fit him comfortably. There is a thick pad inside the slipper. I'd say there is somewhat of arch support. Kind of like a mattress. Our friends are jealous of our cute and comfy bear feet.
But, back to sizing real quick--do not be deceived by the picture as it has no size reference--these things are huuuuge. The large size, at least, is almost 10 inches wide at the front with the claws. So, it's a little strange that the inside of the slippers feels a bit small. In any case, they're huge, they're fuzzy, and do expect a little bit of shedding when you first get them, but I've been wearing them around for a day and haven't noticed a mess at all. Over time, I'd expect to find a few rogue hairs on the floor, but personally I think it's worth the price of walking around like a barbarian at a resort lounge.
MAJOR CON: So it might just be these slippers specifically, but on the bottom is a a soft black covering with those little plastic dot things presumably for traction or whatever, that's understandable--HOWEVER, there's also huge white lettering that practically covers the entire slipper that says "Crazy for Bargains" and [ L ]. The main problem is it's white, and the sole is black, so it's a huge distracting contrast to the rest of the slipper. I went over it with a black permanent marker as a short term solution. Anyways, wear and enjoy!
