Thecauthor, Mary Lee, has written a fun book for children. Mia is a little girl who needed to do a science project. She was talking with her mom about what kind of science project she should do. You see, Mia had many choices. She could make a rainbow, a volcano or create an entire universe. When you read this book you will discover exactly what Mia decided as her science project.
Adults will enjoy reading this book to their children. The children will enjoy hearing about the different kind beds of projects, and they will want to do a project with Mia. In the back of the book are the recipes for making a rainbow, a volcano or a new universe. What fun! The illustrations by the author are bright, colorful and vivid. They depict the actions of Mia as she decided her science project, and then finally completed. The children will enjoy this book, and hurrah for choosing a little girl for a science project.

Mia lists creating a rainbow jar, building an exploding volcano and fashioning a model of the universe. Then she imagines what it would be like to be an actual scientist wearing a white coat in a laboratory. Mia would earn many awards as a successful scientist. Mia's mom presses her to come back down to earth and decide which project to pursue.
I think that this book targeted for preschoolers and kindergarten children presents a strong female role model interested in the sciences. That is an image young girls need to see and hear about. Directions for two science experiments and questions for story comprehension are included at the end of the tale. The illustrations are sweet even though they might appear to represent a child a bit young to receive such a science project assignment. I recommend the book for parents and teachers of children under age six.
Colorful children's book about a girl who needs to do a science project for school. Her mother encourages her as they think of possibilities.
The end has the recipes to do the projects along with sideline hints as to its success. Love rainbow bowl and plan to do that one with our grandson soon.
Quizzes at the end to see if you were paying attention to the story. Other works by the author are highlighted at the end.
What I like about this is that the projects can be done with help from an adult by a boy or girl. Give your young one courage to just tackle it.
I also have 1st & 2nd. But I have a little regret to buy those in Kindle version, since I'm living in Japan and it's difficult to get the paperback. But I should buy these fantastic books in paperback if it takes a long time for shipping and a little more expensive.
Because these are the books of so fun to turn pages that you can't help surprise when you see next pages. You will find more fantastic images than you expected.
If you are parents having little children, you can understand those images are just same as what they have and they like to enjoy these images so much. Children are attracted by that kind of imagination leaping to another world from reality. It will occur on the turning each pages.
And if you have finished growing up children, these books remind you how fun to live with little children were. How freely their imagination leaped from reality, and we enjoyed that.
In addition to saying, if you have had no children and no plan to have, You will be reminded of these books that you (and all of us) were once children like Mia, and have the imagination to leaping from real freely. We could live our life with more fun if we were children like Mia.
So these Mia books are not only for little children and their parents, but also for adults without children.
This 3rd book of Mia series has a theme about science. In this book you can find some fantastic and enjoyable experiments of science. Those shows you (and your children) essential of science and make children interest in. And more, some questions about the story are at the end of books. That is nice for little children to read the book again and deeply understand it. Those are some value of this book.
But the most valuable aspect of this book is telling us science is not hard, and it is one of the means to get free imagination. This is the most important idea what children learning about science.
Science make your imagination more free.
This is a message of this book.
And all of Mia books telling us the same kind of message. To learn Ballet makes you free. To imagine yourself as another person like pirates or princesses is free. What is important in life is having an idea of free, whether you are children or adults.
What I love about Mia series is how represent this idea in visual. Very cute characters and charming colors you can find all pages. It is a visualized idea of freedom.
These Mia books are not only typical representatives of books for children, but also those will tell you that you have had freedom in your childhood. It was not lost yet. I'm really good to have a chance to read these books. And I wish you too.
