The size of the camera is nice, and aside from the noise the image quality is actually fairly good. But boy does the image have a lot of noise in it in dimly- and moderately-lit environments. In most indoor situations the image is going to be really noisy. In daylight and in well-lit areas the image quality is more than adequate.

The other issue I have with it is that it ONLY outputs 30p (or 25p). Not 60i, not 60p, not even 29.97p. Only 30p. Which means that there are an awful lot of video display/recording devices that just won't work with it. In the USA 29.97 or 59.94 fps is the official standard, not 30. Having the ability to select other frame rates would be tremendously helpful.

The mounting bracket is a little strange too. The bracket was obviously made for a larger camera. You have to bend the arms inward about a quarter of an inch in total to attach them to the camera. Weird.

Great camera with nice zooming ability. However it will revert to black and white in low light and you must have a monitor that can display 1080p. 720p or less will NOT work. Also the monitor has to be able to use the 60hz range. Get a cheap converter to convert the signal from HD-SDI to HDMI. Remember 1080p resolution is key. 👍

Great camera. I bought this for use with machine vision for monitoring a CNC system, and I was hoping to mount the camera fairly close to the mill head. I was concerned about the minimum focal distance, but this camera will work perfectly. It is capable of focusing to near zero distance ( target against the lens ). For my application, the camera will be mounted a few inches from the cutter bit, and has no problem focusing that close. The image does tend to be very grainy with low light, so I'll probably mount some LED lighting near by.

The cable contains the controls for accessing the camera's menu, which is a tiny little 4 way joystick molded into the junction of the wires in the cable. Press the stick down once to show the on screen menu, then move the stick up/down to navigate the menu, and left/right to adjust the settings. Navigate to the "exit" option to hide the menu again.

The camera output format is 1080p 30fps 8-bit. I was able to successfully use the camera with the "Blackmagic Design DeckLink Mini Recorder" capture card.

It looks out (through) a window into my yard and is hooked up to my security camera DVR.
It set-up well and shows wonderful clarity, focus and zoom are awesome.
Night vision is pretty grainy, but that is not the reason I bought it.
From low-light all the way to high-noon the color and high-rez clarity are top notch.
Truly worth the money!

Metal construction. Quality cord ends. The picture is clear. The built-in image stabilization is a life-saver. I haven't done a shootout with any of our larger cameras, but for streaming h.264, the quality is more than adequate. The menu is easy to use, and having a variable zoom lens on a camera this inexpensive is fantastic. I recommend this product.

I am using this for a small live-streaming setup. I connect the 3G-SDI output to an inexpensive 3G-SDI to HDMI converter: Tendak SDI HD-SDI 3G-SDI to HDMI 720p/1080p Adapter Video Converter with Embedded Audio
