I have previously used Canva for doing very simple things, such as putting text onto a background, but lacked the confidence to use it for a book cover. Well those days are over now!
The author has a knack of providing enough information to get the job done without overwhelming us with things we don't need to know. The instructions are clear and easy to follow.
I was over the moon when I saw the instructions on how to produce a Create Space cover. I do all my own formatting in the document, but was confused about spine width, bleed, etc when it came to designing the cover. I will now be able to design my own cover in Create Space, something I never thought I'd be able to do.
I can totally recommend this book for any aspiring graphic designers who don't want the cost or complication of Photoshop. I can't wait to experiment with some designs!
Lentz writes with helpful clarity. Anyone out there who's spent years stuck in "I could write a book" mode will be encouraged to know the very book Lentz presents here is her second crack at this process. Unlike most of us, who figure we have to be masters of something before we write a book about it, Lentz just goes ahead and throws all her newbie experience into a very credible product.
So...no more waiting. With Canva and Createspace, you can go forth and do likewise. Although Lentz focuses on journals and workbooks, her book will help with whatever type of book you are planning.
I am a perfect example. Yes! I created my own journal, and it was so easy and so much fun to do!

I use Canva but on my own and no one told me how to use it as this book does.Read more
