Misleading title! "Creating" Lampwork Beads. Half of this 142 page book is about assembling beaded jewelry, NOT "CREATING" BEADS! If your looking for a book an HOW TO MAKE BEADS, this is NOT IT! Save your money, you will be disappointed!

How to make lampwork beads

Excellent step by step description of making more intricate beads. More advanced than my stage of lampworking. This book has given me reachable goals. At this time I'm still trying to make a consistent round bead. The beads presented are gorgeous and I can't wait to try some. The book does start out with setting up a safe studio with essential tools and different torch set ups. The step by step descriptions for making the beads are detailed and have helped me develop my skills. I had purchased another bead book at the same time I got my beginner bead kit that got me started but Creating Lampwork Beads for Jewelry was an excellent addition that raised my understanding of the flameworking techniques. The final section of the book presents descriptions of using the beads in jewelry designs. I would recommend this book to anyone learning lampworking who's looking for "recipes" for beads.

This is a great beginner to intermeidiate book for setting up a new lampwork studio and making lampwork beads. It is filled with useful information a beginner will need. The pictures are very helpful clear close up shots. The instructions are well written with step by step pictures. It is filled with instructions from bead making to creating jewelry. It includes safety tips. I could have used this book when I was setting up my new lampwork studio, it answered many of the questions I had at that time, with the help of pictures.

This is a really good introduction to designing and creating lampwork beads, from putting together your workshop to actually creating the final product. It was the perfect introduction for a beginner, and probably has more advanced projects as the reader progresses.
