That actually would have been acceptable, I could maybe EQ the settings higher... which is a bad compromise... but then the Software for the Blaster X series vs the E series is just plain awful. It comes loaded with a bunch of presets for games I don't even own and I can't delete them. Setting them up is far more difficult than it was on the E series software.
On top of it failing to produce good sound despite it's better hardware, and worse off user experience, the thing also crashes window every time I unplug my headphones.
Sorry, this is garbage. I'm returning this as soon as I can and switching back to the E1. They need to make their new software more like their old and figure out how to make their perfectly fine DAC chip not sound like it's under water. I don't get how they mastered this in 2015 with lower budget items and somehow lost it by 2018 with their higher budget ones. I was a pretty loyal Creative fan until this. (Still love my E1 and my GigaWorks T20 speakers though.) I'm not swearing them off, but I will be very hesitant next time.
The Creative Sound BlasterX G5 gave me just enough volume boost where I can make my ears bleed if I want to with my headphones. I leave the volume around 75-80%, and it's more than enough to boost over the background noise and my kids who also game nearby. I have been using them on Witcher 3 and there is even a setting in the app specifically for the game. The game sounds amazing. It also works great for live streaming, and I've had no issues with sound.
Why I didnt bought an internal sound card? I was hearing interference from my headphones when I use my mobo's output. also if I decide to build a micro ITX system I can use this device and a GPU. I can use this device pretty much with every device. You should consider this too ;)
