If this was not the case with it, I would recommend it to everyone as it is one of the better sounding and fuller featured devices in the market, but as is, no.
Stylish (in my opinion)
The software is quite nice
Mic quality is quite bad
Would constantly disconnect from the computer
Low quality construction (the plate on the mic on/off block fell off within 24 hours)
Somewhat pricey for what it is
Overall this headset is not terrible, but due to its price I can't give it over 3 stars. The mic quality is very bad (think of Xbox Live quality mics), Mine would also constantly disconnect (even when sitting still or laying in bed), and some parts on my headset broke within 24 hours.
After using it for less than a month I've given up on it and decided to buy another headset to replace it. If this headset were say $50-$100~ dollars I would recommend getting it, but at it's current price it's simply not good enough.
A word of caution for someone that has not had this before. If you use it with the SoundblasterX G5 sound card, turn your volume down on the headphones before starting. It will get loud. These are very comfortable but do get sweat on the ear cups and head band. It's amazing how just buying these put new life into my games.
In 3D games, these headphones do what they are supposed to do. Mad Max PC sounds awesome. Listen to the storms and Max's car while wearing these.
These SoundblasterX H7's with the SoundblasterX G5 is great. With the USB or analog setup in the SoundblasterX G5 the sound is amazing on my Alienware 17 R1 M17.
I tried it Halo PC Combat Evolved, Doom3 BFG, Doom/Doom4, and Hydro Thunder PC. They all sounded great with or without the SoundblasterX G5.
These gaming headphones feel strong, look, and sound great. I will buy another pair if these ever fail.
The microphone is clear, the headset is super light, the mic is easily removed, and the in-line controls have the things I need like mute/volume/playback in easy to reach places.
I can't say enough about these. Moved from my Astro A50s to these and haven't looked back.
Fantastic sounds, very comfortable and easy to use.
Bought these for my son, and this our second pair. These broke at the ear piece/size adjustment area just like the previous ones. He's not rough on his equipment, but these are super fragile. Just like the first pair we picked up, they began to crack after one weeks use. And after two, they had broke completely.
Had it not happened, I'd give these a five star review, but since they were so badly made I cannot. Might be just an issue with the one(s) we purchased. But with two of them purchased at separate places - I cannot recommend these.
