    Nice headphones
    5 out of 5 stars
    Nice headphones
******UPDATE****** Well, after 9 months of use, these headphones have given up the ghost. I'm pretty disappointed about this because I loved using them! So, caveat emptor. They're nice headphones at a decent price, but they may not last too long. ******************** In the interests of full disclosure, I received this item through Amazon Vine. However, I try extremely hard to write my reviews as if I had paid the full purchase price, for I think this is only fair for those who read and rely on reviews. I've always been picky about headphones. I find earbuds pretty uncomfortable (at least for extended period of time), but larger headphones like these tend to be too heavy. Lighter earphones can sound tinny and have little bass. These headphones seem to avoid all these problems. The sound quality seems quite excellent to me, though I'm admittedly not an audiophile. Neither the treble nor the bass seems pronounced; all sounds seem quite balanced. These headphones are also very light, which I appreciate, and sit comfortably on my head and around my ears. They also look good (and look fairly expensive)! The packaging is excellent, and would look nice given as a gift (and the recipient might think you spent more than you did). I've uploaded a couple photos to give people a chance to see the packaging. The cord is already quite long, but they also give you an extension cable if you need more length - nice! A bag for the headphones is also included so that you can keep them somewhat protected. Overall, I think these are quality headphones at a fairly decent price.

Owning good headphones, I have a set standard of acceptable sound quality and presentation. Cans like my Shure SRH1840, Beyerdynamic DT 880 Edition 600 ohm, DT 990 Pro and T90, Audio-Technica ATH-M70x, Panasonic RP-HD10, and others offer me a wide palette of great sound. I wasn’t expecting to smile in the first three seconds of listening to the CAL! out of the box.

The bass is big, full, and plenty solid. There is a hidden subwoofer here! The mids are very warm, not in a muddy way, but in a smooth, pleasant presentation...bright and clear-sounding. Imagine the sun shining on a clear day. The highs are sharp and defined enough to not leave me wanting more sparkle.

These are balanced headphones, sounding true to the tracks. That’s one thing that I find impressive about them. They’re not dark or bright, but just right. No veil here. Dull tracks sound dull and harsh tracks sound harsh, but in a forgiving way. Any flaws are evident but tolerable.

Another thing that impresses me is the soundstage, which sound as wide as behind my ears, and good depth with sounds layered right in front of my head, not inside. It’s a very speaker-like sound presentation and image. Instrument separation and definition is admirable. There is not a wall of sound coming out, but a clear, defined showcase of music.

Every element of a track seems like coming from its own individual speaker in the soundfield, versus everything being mashed together like a lot of closed cans. Imagine a meal, with every ingredient carefully positioned on the dinner table around

All of this is happening so good on just $70. These do not sound like $70. They are on a higher echelon. Compared to my other headphones, they're obviously a bit muddy and not as refined and as crystal-clear. But they sound great.

Sensitivity is good, not needing much volume to sound loud and good out of my iPhone 8 Plus and my old, reliable LG G3. No need for external DAC and amp. Now, having said that, out of my Schiit Audio Vali 2/Modi Multibit combo...seriously, WOW! They sound so beautiful to my ears. For real...I’m impressed with them.

Whatever the box says about their sound is true even if it reads like marketing. They’re not lying! I’m joyful and happy with these cans. I have them on right now as I type.

On the cons, they’re not too comfortable since they’re on ear, not over ear...but my big ears still manage to enter the ear cups and be squished, so they almost hurt a bit after a few minutes. Well, I don’t care...I’ll just re-adjust.

If you’re a budding audiophile...or just someone looking to upgrade to something that sounds good with everything and you don’t want to be tangled in audiophilia and non-sense, I HIGHLY recommend these. IMO, they look great and sound great.

God bless and thanks for reading!

I bought these for on-the-go use and their size/form factor has always fit the role pretty well.
Clamping force is low, but stable enough to wall around in without trouble. Glasses-wearer friendly.
The pads for the ear cups are extremely supple after a little wear time. Great comfort among the headphones I've tried.

Build Quality: Plastic construction with metal headband. The headband is wrapped in a high quality pleather pad(not the stiff unnatural feeling cheap stuff). The band is somewhat thin and may create a little bit of pressure on you, but I've never actually experienced this, only conjecture. Cables are a slightly thicker gauge then normal, very soft rubber surround them. The proper strain relief is present. So personal testament to the strain relief, I've managed to actually hook my leg into the Y-cable split and rip the cups off the headband without doing any damaged to the cable. Note: the headband took no damage during this incident either, I just popped the cups back in and tightened the screws that were forced loose.

Sound: Alright, here the important part. The driver in these is the Foster OEM one shared with the Denon D1001.
If you don't know already, the D1001 was an extremely popular hit in the budget/beginner audiophile community
that enjoyed a pretty lengthy reign. The CAL! retains most of the sound signature at a cheaper price.

Bass: boomy, but also a bit flabby and uncontrolled. General consumers won't have any complaints here, and this actually
lends the CAL! to be suited for a lot of Hip-Hop/R&B.

Mids: present and slightly forward. Male vocals are a commendable effort, but something is lost from female artists. The
mids are generally praised, but I've heard better so complaints arise.

Highs: Somewhat absent in my book, but the CAL! is a darker (bass oriented) headphone, you'll lose a little bit of energy
and perceived clarity, but again it isn't something you would normally pick out without experiencing high budget stuff.

Overall, an extremely recommended buy. One of the best values under $100. Don't miss out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sonido 10/10 por el precio, lo demas regular
Reviewed in Mexico on August 23, 2021

Good earphones. First they were a little uncomfortable for my bigger ears but after a few weeks it's unnoticeable. I like the anti-tangling cables and the little pouch it came with. Handy for storing other small electronics as well.

OMG headphones..!! These are ultimate.. after a way long research and listening to headphones and their uses and comfortability.. I chose CAL my Pal.. these have some extraordinary Drivers fa their price range.. and are considered to be all rounding..
I needed for DJing monitoring, watching movies and gaming.. does them all quite great.. perfect sound stage couldn't ask for more and great high and mids.. pls don't expect much thumping or booming bass.. cause it has got some decent bass. One with no overloads. Good for an audiophile too.. Not soo small and fragile but couldn't have been better and stylish.. won't be needing an amplifier for better performance theyre even great without them. Fits perfectly for a medium sized head..
