This is the famed companion volume to CREATIVE PENCIL DRAWING by Paul Hogarth. CREATIVE INK DRAWING offers a fresh look at drawing with ink media. Stressing spontaneity and inventiveness, Paul Hogarth bases his approach on an intense observation of the wolrd around him, showing the reader how to draw with traditional materials, equipment and techniques.

I have read and studied probably close to a hundred books on drawing and painting. I even enjoy a lot of loosely drawn pen and wash work, even some of them that are obviously inaccurate and approaching childlike in technique. But to me this artist's drawings are not only loosely drawn but amateurish. I know, I know, his works were published in magazines. I don't care about that, and to me that's no guarantee of quality. To me, these drawing are not beautiful and do not move me in the slightest in any noticeable way.
Furthermore, the instruction in this text is nearly nonexistent, and what instruction there is, is pretty much useless to anyone with any experience at all with a pen or pencil or has a minimum of drawing experience.
However, a few things the author/artist wrote rang true, but not enough for even 2 stars.
