Lots of Terrible reviews almost made me not buy this card. The price was just too good. I purchased it, and guess what? it came with a disc! Full of drivers! It was so amazing it blew my mind! No...Really, I put this in my fathers computer because his on-board went nutty. Quick install and a run of the disc and it runs like a top!. Sounds great with his 2.1's! Runs his sub woofer great! My father is a musician and is very picky. He called this "Studio quality sound." if your just looking for a card to bring your sound back this is it. it also supports up to 7.1 DDS This is a great product.

P.S. We like an internal sound card on the back of the machine, because little children like to play with usb items that light up and look pretty. We have lots of grand kids running around. :)

my on board sound recently started putting horrible feedback through my speakers. I had another sound card laying around but it did not have a speaker fill option. I have a 7.1 creative system so it is important to me that my sound card will play my movies and music through all the speakers not just the front 2. I read a lot of reviews on different cards and heard a lot of people have trouble with this in windows 7. You will not have that problem with this card. I didn't even have to do a speaker fill. It automatically does that for you on the files that are in 2.1. The sound is great from this card and installation and drivers were very easy. I have windows 7 64 bit and i just installed the disk that came with it and it worked great. I would recommend this to anyone who has more than 2 speakers for their computer.

Great Value Card

I bought this card to get away from my onboard sound of my ASUS P5B motherboard. I was having issues with audio lag and crackling from my headphones and thought the problem would be solved if I bought a sound card. It was not. Installation was a breeze though.

However, I did figure out the problem with my mobo (PCIe x16 link settings stuck at x1) and considered returning to onboard sound until I started using this. The clarity and crispness of the sound is far beyond anything that can be provided by integrated sound. For those unfamiliar with how sound works:

**Most motherboards DON'T have dedicated hardware to process music or multi-channel sound and instead use software and custom drivers (aka a codec) and the cpu to supplement a sound card**

This method is not good for multiple reasons in that it takes away from system performance and it provides inferior sound quality in the process. While this is by no means the best sound card out there it has a dedicated chip and the sound has no trace of interferance from other components (i.e. vibrations from hard drives, dvd player, etc.) like I had from my integrated audio. And on the plus side I've gotten ~5-10% less CPU usage. Says it has EAX capabilities but I don't have any games that support EAX so can't test that out.

Details aside this card is perfect for anyone looking to have a notch above integrated sound. 24 bit/96khz is more than enough for non-audiophiles who just want a clean sound. Comes with an equalizer, but I think it only applies to the media player that is included as well because I can't tell a difference for the rest of my system. Can't say I mind since there are a number of free equalizers available online, google will guide you if interested. If you need to tweak every sound setting this card is not for you. If you've been thinking you want a hassle free way to have solid audio for less than $30 then this is the perfect card.

The sound card that came with my computer (now two years old) had developed a popping/crackling sound. I bought the Soundblaster Audigy SE from Amazon. It arrived within a week. Now, I'm not very experienced with computer hardware--I'd rather it left me alone, and I'd do the same, but this was very easy--just popped the side panel off the computer case--didn't even have to disconnect all the other wires from the case--just the speaker wire that came from the sound card--unscrewed the one screw holding the old sound card in place, and pulled it straight out. The new sound card went in the same way, then plugged the speaker wire back in (green to green), replaced the screw and the side panel of the computer case, plugged the power cord back in, and booted the computer up. Inserted the CD that came with the sound card--it installed the driver (along with some other sound software)--took about 20 minutes total. No more Snap/Crackle/Pop!

Very good entry level sound card-SB Audigy SE

It's a update from my onchip AC97 and this works just fine for me. I'm a fanatic PC gamer but I don't have much requirement on sound. I, however, find that the onchip AC97 won't deliver the voice commands from other players in the game Ghost Recon Online. So I decide maybe I should switch to a real sound card and that's why this pre-owned Audigy SE came to my desktop. It works fine, I can hear other players now, and it also bring a lot of gadgets and enhence software that seem to be a bonus. It's not that professional, but for a lower end entry level sound card, it has it's position. Plus it's not expansive. Get a pre-owned is as good as a new one I guess.

I bought this card to replace an external box that quit working after several years of use. I have six speakers and a sub-woofer connected to my computer, so the standard sound card thats installed on the motherboard only allows for one connection. This Sound Blaster Audigy Se card intalls inside my computer so I don't have to tie up a usb slot like I did for the external box. The Sound Blaster card is a whole lot cheaper than the external usb box that it replaced. I am totally satisfied with this card, as it allows me to have true surround sound, and also comes with a program that has a graphic equalizer and allows you to add all different kinds of special sound effects. It is worth every penny and out performs cards that are much more expensive. I am 100% satisfied with its performance and highly recommend it.
