Now I'm aware some audiophiles will disagree with me on this one, but in making this recommendation I'm thinking about budget-conscious consumers who still want the functionality and sound quality while they sweat.
In using these with both my iPhone 5S and iPad Air, I listened to music, watched streaming live TV and videos, worked (and sweated) outside and made a call.
These are my impressions of the product after a full day of using these wireless headphones.
WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT:
☆ The price point is on target for what you get and what it can do for you.
☆ Relatively short charging time via the included micro-USB cable of 2 to 3 hours. (Dual built-in Lithium ion 150mAh.)
☆ Bluetooth 4.1 pairing was easy and I was able to go about 15' from my device before dropping connectivity. (Supports A2DP, AVRCP, HSP, HFP, CVC).
☆ The accessories: round hard case, short charging cable, clip, in-ear crescents (stabilizers) and various sizes of earbud tips were included with simple directions in an attractive box showcasing the product's functionality.
☆ 11 hour battery life estimate after 1 full charge seems to be accurate.
☆ Sweat proof is a good thing, as it also makes these usable in a light rain.
☆ Build quality of the earbuds; cord, switch (with hidden microphone) and ear pieces is excellent. The cord is flat and can be held in place with an included clip.
☆ Call quality using this product was very good for the person I called, even though I felt like I was yelling into a tunnel with my ears plugged. The remote controls volume-music-calls with play/pause/next/previous track/answer/end call.
☆ Noise cancelling with these in and the sound level at 1/2 maximum is complete for me.
☆ Sound quality is very good. I was able to hear nuances in music with a nice mid-range and treble, and rich bass.
☆ Parts are customizable so that you can get the best fit and sound. I immediately swapped out the ear tips that the earbuds shipped with for the smallest size and then they fit comfortably in my ears - working well to cancel out ambient noise.
☆ The in-line remote works well for volume control, and making and receiving calls.
☆ The water-resistant hard case was a nice addition and both the earbuds and charging cable can easily fit inside.
☆ Will be great to use in the gym, while hiking or enjoying a lazy day by the pool. Humidity isn't an issue with these!
☆ The audio's highs and lows are very good, making these perform like much more expensive earbuds.
☆ Excellent 1 year warranty service with no charge for sending them back and getting a replacement per their policy.
☆ Very lightweight - only 15 grams (1/2 ounce).
☆ Secure, but not uncomfortable fit.
WHAT I WISH WAS BETTER:
➤ All of these types of 'active' earbuds give some amount of noise related to the movement of the cable, and these are no different. Although this is really only an issue at lower volumes and when making a phone call.
➤ Would love to see two sets of ear tips in each size included in the package. (I'm being greedy here I know.)
I have not found a better in-ear earbud at this price point with the same features, build and sound quality.
Creative has done a fantastic job of providing active consumers with a product that can easily connect to Bluetooth devices and exceed expectations.
I will be using these at the gym - swapping with my more expensive brand. I will update this review at a later date to address durability and performance with continued use.
Definitely recommend these to commuters for their noise cancelling capabilities, runners for their secure fit and sweatproof qualities, and anyone who is looking for great sound at a reasonable price.

In my experience, the biggest difference between a cheap pair of earbuds and a more expensive pair will come to light when you're actually using the product. That's where the Creative Outlier Sports Earbuds prove their worth. This is just a rock solid pair of earbuds that sound good, are easy to use, comfortable, and work really well.
More specifically, when it comes to using these earbuds I've taken them along on bike rides and medium to long runs and the Outlier earbuds do an amazing job keeping my favorite music going without any interference, stuttering, or static. There are not many earbuds I can say do that.
The rest of the features on this pair of earbuds are pretty much standard. You get interchangeable earbuds for different sized ears, call answering, a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery, voice narrated inputs - all pretty standard stuff.
I will call out these earbuds for staying in place in my ear even after my sweatiest runs and bike rides. Adjusting earbuds mid-workout isn't fun and the Outlier hasn't failed me yet.
So if you're considering this set of earbuds and wondering what's the difference, there you have it. Recommended!
Everyone's ear canal is different, and that's why you see so many different styles of earbuds in multiple shapes and whatnot. There is good reason for this. Some will insist their design is perfect while another will make the same claim using an entirely different shape. Who's telling the truth? Well, the truth is, they kind of all are. What I find a perfect fit and comfortable may be a poor fit and maybe even painful to wear for anything other than short periods of time. Everybody is different. Most earbuds will come with varying different size silicone tips (as these do) and those that don't I generally consider super cheap and not worthwhile. Your opinion may vary. As for these earbuds, I found comfortable AND a great, snug fit that for the most part, stayed put as it was designed to.
It was simple to pair with my bluetooth mp3 player. I was grateful for that since I've owned a few pair that made things unnecessarily complicated just to be able to use. Very difficult to endorse something that I found hard to use right out of the box, even having gone through the user manual. I'm pretty tech-savvy, and these were really easy to set up.
Okay, let's get down to brass tax, how was the sound? Well, let me tell you up front that I work in broadcasting (27+ years) and I listen to audio pretty much for a living. I know what good sound is. I understand the need for great audio from the low to high end. Artificial bass always comes across very muddy to me (I'm looking at you, Beats). The best audio will always be a great combination of both of those. The general problem with bluetooth is that in order to be used, it compresses the music, quite a bit actually. The reproduction on the receiving end can suffer greatly as a result. Some may find this impossible to accept, others deal with it for ease of use that comes with bluetooth. It won't be long before bluetooth will finally come into its own and be able to reproduce to such a degree that the difference will be negligible, or not at all--though I'm more curious why they don't just switch to WiFi which allows much better bandwidth and better audio reproduction, but oh well...the point is, that day is not today. However, not all is lost. While these have semi-decent highs and lows, it won't win any awards...but when you add to the fact their cost and ease of use, suddenly it becomes apparent why I gave this 4 stars.
For the decent sound and comfortable fit and ease of use, I have no problem whatsoever giving this a full 4 stars.
