From the Author
"Ifwe seriously hope to resolve the chaos the world is experiencing and to achieve theviable and sustainable global future everyone anticipates, what is needed is asocial-economic-political system in which all the Earth's seven billioninhabitants are able to develop and to engage their unique abilities inimportant and beneficial activities and, thus, to experience their lives ashaving meaning and significance. Necessarily, too, we will need to evolve goalsfor mankind and Planet Earth that people perceive as giving purpose anddirection to their own lives and, therefore, as worthy of the commitment oftheir time and their creative energies. As far as I can see, there is no viablealternative." - Efiong Etuk
Creativity: Revealing the Truth about Human Nature Book Review
Creativity: Revealing the Truth about Human Nature is a truly phenomenal and path-breaking book. An astonishing compendium of insights into human nature uncovers our real but lost essence as humans. Every insight complements the others; and, together, they present an image of man that is intuitive, authentic, and compelling.
From the medical perspective, what is particularly remarkable about this compendium is the plausible link that Dr. Etuk asserts between human fulfillment (creativity) and people's physiological and mental well-being. If, as Dr. Etuk asserts, there is a link between creativity and people's health, medical practitioners, in general, and psychotherapists, in particular, might wish to rethink some of the diagnoses and procedures that have been taken for granted. Actually, there is a sense in which this book might just help us rethink certain aspects of medicine, generally.
Creativity: Revealing the Truth about Human Nature is not just a book; it is an idea - a vital ideas for tackling the problems we are facing, individually, socially, and globally. Penetrating and foundational, this is one of those ideas, or books, that are likely going to define our age. Regardless of profession, interest, or status in society, everyone is going to like and benefit from this paradigm-shifting work.
I personally find Creativity: Revealing the Truth about Human Nature a necessary and compelling reading. The authenticity, universality, and timelessness of the insights that Dr. Etuk has brought together in this compendium make the book a global heritage, a "treasury of wit and wisdom" to be handed down from generation to generation.
I find this book engaging and thought provoking. There are many great ideas brought up here, but as a health care provider, I find it fascinating the connections drawn between fulfillment(creativity) and mental well being. One could could then surmise the next step being physical well being. Dr. Etuk has done an excellent job. I look forward to passing this along to friends and family.
One might wonder how someone could sub-title a book, "Revealing the Truth About Human Nature," and then actually succeed in doing so. However, the title itself, "Creativity," is the tool that Efiong uses to accomplish this task. Instead of long, deep paragraphs of reading, Efiong has compiled and organized profound thoughts that truly do reveal our human nature and open our eyes to the evidence and authenticity of our own creativity. With a healthy dose of critical thinking that leads us to accountable creativity, he defines the path to creating a global positive future for generations to come.
