I'd like more detail on which plants are which so I can compare the stylized version to a different reference.
I'd also like a watercolor and computer set of instructions for each project. The book says near the beginning that it contains some of both, but it takes extra brain power for me to suss out which tools were used to make which demos.
As art books go, this is in the, "Step one, draw a circle, Step two, complete your photo-realistic portrait of Geroge Washington, then add a few fun flourishes," genre.
That said, my tween LOVES this book and makes pictures from it morning noon and night. I bought her a Kawaii book, but instead I now have majestic jungle scenes, plants of all types and hand-painted birds everywhere.
In the right hands, this book is a great source of inspiration. The authors' illustration work is AH-MAY-ZING.
It just doesn't quite jive with my, "Tell me all the things, first," style of learning.
It has sections for types of animals with a detailed how to using basic shapes. Then it goes into how to customize the basic form into different specific animals. Example: big cats has leopards, tigers, etc.
I sketched some but haven’t painted yet, although the book goes into detail on how to color them as well.
Another thing I liked is that it doesn’t spend too many pages on the basics like tools and colors, these are in all art books but are so repetitive.

The illustrations are in my best word choices whimsical, charming, and inventive. If you are looking for highly detailed instructions and realism, most likely not your book.
However, if you love to use your talents in fun new ways, draw and create for pleasure, and want to learn some fun ways to art journal, make a card for a friend. Or
Have a creative afternoon, this is your book for sure.

I highly recommend this book to anyone.
Zanna and Harry Goldhawk are super talented illustrators and the tutorials and steps in the book are easy to follow, with useful little tips and lots of pictures (which are just gorgeous) to help you along. The book covers everything from bumblebees to dragons to giraffes!
Suitable for all ages, at any skill/drawing level. I definitely recommend. Also a good purchase if you like beautiful books with beautiful illustrations.
