I found Charlie very endearing, though I didn’t get quite enough time to really get to know him or much of his story save for a brief summary. Unfortunately, I got even less time to know Aemon or watch their relationship take hold. Honestly it all felt a bit chaotic and it was over before it really started. And yet, I laughed at some of Charlie’s crazy antics as he attempted to create a memorable Christmas for him and his new pets, and I couldn’t help but think he and Aemon were a sweet, albeit unlikely, couple. So while nothing crazy remarkable happened in this short story and the relationship and character development were minimal, I smiled during and after reading All Creatures Great and Small and Charlie’s crazy menagerie certainly warrants rounding up to an even 3 stars.
*Reviewed for Alpha Book Club*
Charlie thinks Aemon is a ponce, but is attracted to him anyway, especially when he keeps popping up and doing little things that make Charlie happy.
This was just a really cute, surprisingly funny and adorable Christmas time read with a very cute HEA and lots of unique rescue animals. I really enjoyed it.

I loved this novella.
Charlie is adorable and funny. He’s kind of asocial, speaks his mind out loud and doesn’t care what people think of him. He has a huge heart, and when he meets Max, an ugly cat almost blind without a tail, he doesn’t hesitate to save him.
Aemon, Charlie’s landlord, is amazed by him and decides to help him to have a perfect Christmas.
I had a real pleasure reading this short story. I would have loved it if it was a little bit longer because Charlie is so funny and adorable.
