My vacation started with reading this book. I truly believe it was a divine appointment as one of the habits I have struggled with for years has been Workaholism. How ironic I’m diving in to what Steve shows us a human beings things we struggle with that hinder our relationship with God. It has inspired me to focus on these issues and Steve’s roadmap to guide us how to do that is spot on! Steve, thank you for this book and I believe it couldn’t be more timely for our place in history and where our culture finds itself!

I just finished reading Creatures of Habit. Steve Poe’s writing style filled with examples, illustrations and biblical quotes, made it a very easy read. He challenged my thinking in some areas and gave me inspiration in others. I highly recommend this book!

Tackling the Dirty Dozen

We'll all heard of the 7 vices, now we have the Dozen Habits. Yep, some expectedly overlap. I'm sure if we are honest, did I already say that Lying is one of the habits that a full chapter is devoted to, we are guilty of multiples of these habits if not at times all. But there is hope of course as a Christian through the forgiveness and changes possible through Christ. This very readable work helps us ask the right questions to discover where we are with each of these habits and after we take the initial step to "Own it" provides some steps to help reduce the power of each one in our lives and to ultimately and hopefully eliminate it. Still as Poe points out, most of these did not develop overnight and will most likely take some time. We will stumble, fall, and fail - but we get back up again and keep trying in this journey of life. We can be the people God desires for us to be as He made the way possible. Creatures of Habit, by Steve Poe, is a practical handbook that will help you with many of the common problems that have plagued us since the beginning of time. More of a reference book to return to when you need help with a certain issue, rather than a straight-through read, Poe offers understanding, advice, and next steps to issues like pride, anger, worry, idolatry, and guilt, among others.. I recommend checking it out.

This book was given to me for an honest review. The opinions are my own.

Outstanding book, several chapters really hit home for me, pride, worry and complaining!!! I see these areas in my life that need some changing and Steve really explains how to do just that! Easy read very helpful content and so what this world needs right now!!!!!

Awful texture!

I am hopeful that this book will live up to our expectations.

However, as someone with extreme texture issues, I can't fathom why they would produce this book with such a terrible textura. I'm not sure if I can even pick it up at this point. 😐😔
